Chi Sorority, Inc. Chapter By-Laws

1. The sisters of Kappa will not discriminate against anyone due to their race, color, sexual orientation, religious preference, disability, veteran status, etc. 2. If a New Member chooses to De-New Member or becomes a Holdover, money paid to Chi will not be refunded. This includes full payment of dues for that semester which must be paid prior to returning to become a New Member another semester. 3. President must be able to hold office for one complete year (two terms) in order to be eligible for elections. 4. All Actives, Inactives (mandated or voluntary), and early alumnae of Kappa Delta Chi must submit a transcript, in hard copy, listing their entire academic history including classes and grades received at A&M International University by the third formal meeting to recording secretary and cc standards. If not received by the specific date, a $25 fine will be charged. 5. If an Active member of Kappa Delta Chi fails to maintain her status as a full-time student at Texas A&M International University, she must notify the E-board and Academic chair within one week of the dropped class(es) with proper documentation. 6. Any member who would like to run for an Executive Board position must be in good standing. 7. All active members of Kappa Delta Chi are required to check their E-mails & Collegiate Link on a daily bases to ensure that they are always informed on any upcoming events (this includes personal emails, dusty emails, officer emails, collegiate accounts). 8. If an Executive Board member misses a deadline(s) or arrangements are not made with any national officer when a deadline cannot be met due to a legitimate reason and any fine(s) are imposed on the chapter, she (and all members responsible for the delay) will be responsible for paying the fine(s). 9a. All Officers and Chairs should meet their specified deadlines as per the constitution, such as reports, national form submissions, event forms, conference calls and information, and all materials that must be turned in on time to the chapter and nationals.

9. Service: All actives must meet for three (3) hours per month to do a group service. Attendance is mandatory for all actives for this group service. Failure to attend the mandatory group service will result in a $15 fine, $5 per hour of service. 10. If all 40 service hours are not completed by the end of the term, that member will not be Active the following term. When she is allowed to return as an Active member, she must complete those hours before the of intent is due. Also, she will have to pay a $5 fine per hour missing at the end of the semester. 11. Alumni invited to internal events must arrive 15 minutes early, as per the constitution. If an alumna arrives late, she will not be allowed in and will have to wait outside until the event is over. 12. President must follow Robert’s Rules of Order as per the constitution, in all chapter meetings. 13. Newly initiated sisters must be active for their first term after initiation. 14. There will be no adopting or switching of families within the chapter. 15. Members (minimum 2 per event) will be responsible for set-up and/or clean-up for a given event, determined by Historian. 16. Inactives and Alumna in good standing who wish to attend an internal or external event must pay a $5 fee when food and drinks will be served. 17. Inactive sisters, alumni, and early alumni can only attend the first and last meeting of the semester because they are open meetings. They can only attend to our closed meetings if invited by e-board members. 18. All sisters will represent KDChi in a positive and respectful manner in all social media, among other Greek members, and/or the university. 19. Inactive sisters who are in good standing may participate in open KDChi events, for close events they must get invited. 20. Failure to complete assignments given by an executive member will result in a $5 fine. 21. There must be at least 5 active sisters signed up for an event for the event to be processed as an official KDChi event, if not the event will be canceled 22. Elections for the New Member Educator officer position for the fall/spring semester will be voted on by the 8th week of the semester. 23. Vacancies occurring in any office shall be filled during an election at the first regular meeting after the resignation was announced, with the exception of the President position.

24. Stoles for graduating seniors will be paid by the chapter only if the member is in good standing and was active for a minimum of two semesters. 25. Active members will participate in regional conference and chapter visits. If a member is unable to attend, she will need to find another active sister to fill in for her. Failure to do so will result in a $25 fine. i. 2/3 of the active members are required to attend one yearly chapter visit
