Integrated approaChes have the potential to enable better outcomes for Flood Risk Management (FRM) and society as a whole. However, aChieving integration in praCtiCe is a reCurring Challenge, espeCially for FRM where multiple aCtors need to work together aCross fragmented poliCy domains. To further advance the Concept of integration, this thesis develops and applies a framework for assessing integration in FRM and identifying different degrees of integration. The framework sets out the Context of integration, assesses the governance CapaCity for integration through the strength of relationships between different types of aCtors (bridging, bonding and linking) and the mechanisms (aCtor-, rule- and resourCe-based) that influence them, and the realisation of integration in FRM praCtiCe through knowledge, poliCies and interventions. The framework is applied to different FRM integration Challenges in England and Serbia using data ColleCted from in-depth interviews with FRM professionals (n=73), partiCipant observation at FRM related meetings (n=27) and document analysis at national, regional and loCal levels. The findings demonstrate the dynamiC nature of aChieving integration in FRM and how degrees of integration Can evolve for different integration Challenges in FRM and progress at various speeds. The researCh demonstrates the need to Create a Culture of Collaboration and Continuous learning within and aCross FRM and seCtor-speCific organisations to realise integration in FRM through multiple mechanisms. Five types of boundary spanning roles were identified (retiCulist, entrepreneur, interpreter, organiser and speCialist) that faCilitate aCtors’ ability to work within existing mechanisms (e.g. rules, funding mechanisms and partnerships) to jointly develop knowledge and Capture opportunities aCross seCtors to realise integration in praCtiCe. Creating such a Cultural shift that enables integration in FRM requires sustained resources, such as joint funds to generate and maintain such boundary spanning roles, as well as associated partnerships and training programmes, and appropriately designed rules in the long-term. Overall, the framework Can be applied by researChers, policymakers and praCtitioners to faCilitate a better understanding of integration in FRM and support its realisation. i Acknowledgements Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone willing to engage with me and my researCh both in England and Serbia. Utvr ñuje se Prostorni plan podru čja posebne namene Parka prirode Golija (u daljem tekstu: Prostorni plan), koji je odštampan uz ovu uredbu i čini njen sastavni deo. Član 2. Prostornim planom utvr ñuju se osnove organizacije, koriš ćenja, ure ñenja i zaštite podru čja Parka prirode Golija na delovima teritorija gradova Kraljevo i Novi Pazar i opština Ivanjica, Raška i Sjenica. Član 3. Prostorni plan sastoji se iz tekstualnog dela i grafi čkih prikaza. Tekstualni deo Prostornog plana objavljuje se u "Službenom glasniku Republike Srbije". Grafi čki prikazi (referalne karte) izra ñeni su u razmeri 1:50 000, i to: referalna karta 1. "Prirodni resursi, zaštita životne sredine, prirodnih i kulturnih dobara"; referalna karta 2.     AGRITOURISM AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT Biljana Veljković1, Zoran Broćić2 Abstract The overall development of rural areas requires, among other things, the involvement of the non-agrarian sector. The multifunctionality of agriculture is evidenced, inter alia, by its conjunction with tourism and environmental protection. Rural tourism is gaining increasing importance and can contribute to the development of rural communities. This article analyses the resources available in certain areas in western Serbia engaged in tourism and rural tourism, points to factors crucial to further development, and highlights necessary actions.It evaluates the capacity development and present state of rural tourism, draws attention to basic principles of development, and stresses the necessity to cooperate with complementary sectors.Some rural localities imbued with traditions, customs and cultural and historical heritage in conjunction with rural tourism are specific types of tourist attractions (ethnic villages, houses, restaurants). It is the duty of the local community to recognise, initiate and become actively involved in development strategies and master plans to take advantage of support measures and subsidies. The aim of the paper is to point to the role of tourism in the integration of rural areas into the national and international economy based on the analysis of the relevant rural development model and in terms of more efficient endogenous development. The main hypothesis is that rural areas belonging to Rudnička Morava territory have significant natural and anthropogenic resources for tourism development. However, what lacks is an integrated strategy that would contribute to sustainability and strengthening of the competitiveness of the rural economy. In accordance with the subject of the paper, its aim and the set hypotheses, qualitative, quantitative and SWOT analysis were applied during the research. A survey was conducted in order to obtain positions and feedback from the key actors involved in tourism development. The paper is organized in eight sections. The main result of the research points to the necessity of giving priority to rural tourism development as an essential component of the revitalization of villages and local communities.     Association of Metallurgical Engineers of Serbia Review paper AME UDC:669.01”406”(497.11)=861 CONTINUITY OF METALLURGY IN THE IBAR VALLEY VERA BOGOSAVLJEVIĆ-PETROVIĆ National Museum Kraljevo, Serbia, [email protected] ABSTRACT The results of archaeological survey and excavations in the Ibar valey in the last two decades suggest the pressing need for modern archaeometallurgical investigations.On the basis of very short summery pro and contra the continuity of metallurgy we conclude that it exists during very long period of time, from Early Iron Age through Roman domination in the I st century AD, to the period of decline of Empire and to well-known features of the medieval mining and metallurgy. In this text we proved and emphasized the very significant moments shaping this process. Key words: Ibar, Kopaonik, Kruševica, archaeometallurgy, furnace INTRODUCTION At the moment of writing of this text it would be premature to speak in detail about the evolution of the metallurgy in the Ibar valley but it is appropriate and useful to bring together all the published data and to estimate the potential importance and scopes of the future investigations. Meridian course of the river from the south to the north clearly distinguishes the geographical framework of examination of archaeometallurgical manifestations. Abundance of ore deposits, first of all of lead, zinc, iron and copper makes the observed area appropriate for the analysis and suitable geomorphologic potential for emergence of strong economic activities in the past ( Mićić 1980:19-63, 111-119; Krstić 1971). The data recorded by the historians of metallurgy and mining are considered even today as useful starting points first of all for checking the data in the field (Simić 1988).
