Hadhrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra) was the second successor of the Promised Messiah (as). He was a distinguished (great) Khalifa because his birth was foretold by a number of previous and Saints.  The Promised Messiah (as) received a Divine sign for the truth of as a result of his forty days of prayer at Hoshiarpur (India). God Almighty told him that a pure son (Musleh Maud) would be born to him within a period of nine years. On February 20th 1886 this prophecy was published.  In accordance with this Divine prophecy and within the specified period, the Promised son was born to the Promised Messiah (as) on January 12th 1889 in . He was named Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad.  The prophecy about Musleh Maud had also specified some special qualities of the Promised Son. For instance, it was foretold that he would be extremely intelligent and highly learned. His fame will spread to the ends of the earth and nations would be blessed through him.

Note: We do not hold Yaume-Musleh Maud Jalsas to celebrate the birth date of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II, which was 12th January 1889. Rather, we conduct these Jalsas to remember the fulfilment of the Prophecy, which was published on 20th February 1886.

Summary of his Achievements

Under the great leadership of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih II, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community progressed by leaps and bounds. His long period of Khilafat (52 years) was full of great achievements.

A few examples are below: •He inaugurated - a school for training . •1934: Established The Tehrik-e-Jadid scheme. •1957: Established The Waqf-e-Jadid scheme. •Many new Ahmadiyya missions were opened in a number of foreign countries, such as Mauritius, USA, West African nations and many more. •He wrote a large number of books and under his guidance, the Holy was translated into various important languages of the world. He has probably written 10,000 to 12,000 pages only on the Holy Qur’an! •He delivered many informative lectures and profound sermons. •As the community was growing rapidly, it was divided into different age groups (auxiliary organisations) to ensure better training of all Jama’at members: Nasirat; Lajna; Atfal; Khuddam; Ansar.
