With that in mind, your family can not only sign up for our popular indoor programs, but can also take Eadvantage of golf, tennis, adult leagues and hundreds of other outdoor opportunities! The biggest news here at the Park District for fall is the opening of the newly-renovated Skatium Ice Arena. After modernizing both rinks in 2005, our new entrance, lobby, offices and locker rooms — now match the rest of the venue that houses the best figure skating school and hockey program in the Midwest. The other big addition to the district is not brick and mortar; it is our brand new website at www.SkokieParks.org. At our new state-of-the-art online portal, finding your favorite programs, special events and places will now be a snap. Also check out new photos and videos, sign up for e-news and access our other event websites. Skokie Park District Board of Commisioners Fall officially begins August 26-28, with Skokie’s Backlot Bash, this year featuring Grammy- Pictured counter-clockwise from lower left nominated rockers ‘Fastball,’ Chicago punk band the ‘Smoking Popes,’ the legendary ‘Lil’ Mike Reid, President Ed and the Blues Imperials,’ and Rock-and-Roll re-creationists ‘Tributosaurus becomes The Jerry Clarito, Vice President Who.’ The street fest also will feature a giant carnival, bingo, food and beer, kids’ activities, and Susan Aberman, Comminssioner much more.
