More information will be forthcoming, so get your camera ready and head out on Saturday, June 20. A message from Mayor McLeod In a little less than 10 months, a very important event will take place. In April 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau will conduct its survey to count the actual number of people living in the United States, known as the decennial census. The census count is extremely important to Hoffman Estates as a Village. Many things depend on us getting a proper count of our residents. We receive state and federal funds based on our population. A short count means we won’t get our fair share of those funds. In addition, state and federal legislative boundaries are based on population.
