    Tour of Utah Elevated to UCI ProSeries Event for 2020 “America’s Toughest Stage Race” to be held on Aug. 3-9 SALT LAKE CITY (October 10, 2019) – The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced today that the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah has been selected to join the new men’s professional road cycling UCI ProSeries. The international cycling federation also revealed that the race in Utah will take place from Aug. 3-9, 2020. “The Tour of Utah has been recognized for its international racing stature with its inclusion in the UCI ProSeries,” said John Kimball, managing director. “We are thrilled for this designation by cycling’s governing body among its prestigious one-day races and stage races. Our placement on the calendar of events will better allow us to attract top-tier riders and WorldTour teams. We look forward to organizing a race of the highest standard.” The UCI has reorganized its men’s professional road racing structure into three separate divisions: UCI WorldTour, UCI ProSeries and UCI Continental Circuits. The new UCI ProSeries, which includes the best HC and Class 1 races such as the Tour of Utah, will strengthen the second division by ensuring an optimal fit with the UCI WorldTour schedule. “The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah has proven over the years that it has earned the opportunity to be included in the new UCI ProSeries, which will feature many of the best races and historic events from around the world,” said Sean Petty, UCI Road Commission member. “The consistent quality of the race, the start-to-finish streaming of each stage and the incredibly challenging and picturesque courses that showcase Utah are second to none.” The Tour of Utah is the only UCI ProSeries stage race and one of only two events based in North America on the 54-race UCI road calendar.

Seven hundred and ten professional riders (Mean + SD: 27.9 + 4.2 years, 1.81 + 0.06 m, 68.6 + 6.33 kg) were coMpared for physical characteristics (i.e. age, height, and body Mass). The top 25% within rider specialties were selected as the saMple group based upon Pro Cycling Stats points General Classification, sprinter, tiMe-trialists, one-day racer earned during the previous season. An additional rider classification was created for those riders outside of the top 25% of all categories called DoMestique. General Classification riders in the WT were older than PC, however, there were no other differences between rider specialties. However, differences were found in anthropoMetric characteristics within the different divisions (i.e. height, body Mass, body surface area, and frontal area). La novità scontentò i commercianti Bellanesi che si riunirono tra di loro per protestare e far valere le proprie ragioni presso il Prefetto: Il 5 gennaio 1862 una delegazione si recò in barca presso il prefetto di Como e tutto il paese si riunì sulle rive in attesa dell’esito della spedizione. Il rientro avvenne di notte e il successo del drappello fu festeggiato con un corteo guidato dai tre Re Magi. A questo punto entra in gioco la fantasia popolare spostando l’evento sempre più indietro nei secoli fino al favoloso Seicento, epoca dai forti contrasti per la presenza degli Spagnoli e per avvenimenti nefasti quali la peste ed il passaggio dei Lanzichenecchi. Tutti questi elementi si ritrovano oggi nel corteo della “Pesa Vegia” con costumi estremamente colorati; ogni anno, infatti, dal lontano 1862 si continua a rievocare con grande impegno quella importante nottata. Ai nostri giorni la Pesa Vegia è stata arricchita con importanti coreografie di contorno, come l’allestimento del presepe vivente con la partecipazione di oltre un centinaio di personaggi che sfilano con il corteo spagnolo a cavallo. Durante la manifestazione in tutti i locali pubblici e banchi ambulanti si possono degustare i prodotti tipici del nostro lago e in più la famosa “buseca” ed il profumato e aromatico “vin brulé”.

Rada Profesionálnej Cyklistiky (Professional Cycling Council) zapisuje UCI WorldTour preteky do kalendára UCI WorldTour. Výkonný Výbor UCI (The management committee of the UCI) zapisuje ostatné preteky medzinárodného kalendára do jednotlivých tried podľa kritérií, ktoré vypracuje. Ako všeobecné pravidlo, každý kontinentálny okruh medzinárodný kalendár začína plynúť nasledujúcim dňom po ukončení vlaňajších posledných pretekov UCI Majstrovstiev Sveta alebo pretekov WorldTour a končí po ukončení posledných pretekov WorldTour alebo Majstrovstiev Sveta v danom roku. Termíny sezóny každého kontinentálneho okruhu medzinárodneho kalendára budú každoročne stanovené Výkonným výborom, ktorý vezme do úvahy horeuvedené pravidlo ako aj špecifiká týkajúce sa pretekov registrovaných v kalendári na rôznych okruhoch. (text upravený 1.01.02; 1.01.05; 1.01.17). 2.1.002 Kontinentálny okruh sa skladá zo všetkých elite (ME) a všetkých under 23 (MU) mužských cestných pretekov v kontinentálnom kalendári na každom kontinente. Medzinárodný kalendár 2.1.003 Aby bolo možné zaregistrovať preteky do medzinárodného kalendára, preteky musia zaručiť účasť aspoň 10 tímov, z toho 5 zahraničných tímov.     Le maglie che hanno fatto la storia del ciclismo 3 LEGNANO – Italia La squadra ciclistica “Legnano” nasce nel 1906 parallelamente alla comparsa della fabbrica di biciclette costituita dall’industriale milanese Emilio Bozzi con l’appoggio della “Franco Tosi”. La fabbrica produceva biciclette su licenza dell’inglese Wolseley immesse sul mercato italiano con il nome di “Wolsit” (contrazione di "Wolseley Italiana") ma Bozzi volle intitolare la squadra ciclistica alla città dove aveva sede la fabbrica. Nel 1927 la “Wolsit” cambiò nome in "Legnano", con Bozzi unico proprietario, e assunse come simbolo quello del monumento al guerriero di Legnano. Il bozzetto da riprodurre sulle bici lo realizzò Binda. La maglia della Legnano era inizialmente grigio-rossa per poi diventare stabilmente verde “ramarro” dalla fine degli anni trenta. US Vicarello 1919 www.usv1919.it febbraio 2021 La prima vittoria della Legnano dovrebbe essere (il condizionale è d’obbligo poiché le fonti sono un po' confuse) la quarta tappa del Giro di Sicilia del 1908 vinta da Pierino Albini ma già nel 1909 la squadra vince quattro tappe al primo Giro d’Italia e con il romano Dario Beni ottiene il suo primo campionato italiano su strada. Nel 1910 la Legnano vince due tappe al Tour de France con Ernesto Azzini. Le vittorie di Azzini non furono però le prime vittorie all’estero perché nella primavera dello stesso anno Maurice Brocco, forte corridore francese, vince con i colori grigio-rossi della Legnano la Parigi – Bruxelles. 1910, Tour de France: Albini, in maglia Legnano, viene superato da Lapize, che poi vincerà il Tour , sul Col d’Aubisque Da quel momento la Legnano non si ferma più e continua a vincere divenendo una delle più forti squadre di sempre a livello mondiale.
