He also was named the ECAC Division II Year-By-Year At Mercyhurst Coach of the Year for the fi rst time. Year Overall Conference The Lakers were the only program in the country, at any division, to stake the 2002 2-9 1-9 (GLIAC) claim of starting 0-4 and then winning their fi nal seven games of the season. With the 7-4 fi nish, Schaetzle has now led the Lakers to a third consecutive winning 2003 5-6 4-6 (GLIAC) season - the longest string of winning seasons since the program rattled off six 2004 4-7 4-6 (GLIAC) straight from 1983-1989. Schaetzle has gone 23-10 over the three year stretch.
