Over his fi rst 13 seasons, Schaetzle has guided the Lakers to a 69- • Sonoma State, 1986-89 74 overall record and a 50-61 mark in conference play. Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends/Tackles The Lakers had the best record against PSAC West foes, posting a 6-1 mark, but crossover games counted in the league standings the 6-3 mark was not good • Mercyhurst, 2002-present enough to play for the PSAC Championship. However, for his efforts, Schaetzle Head Coach earned the PSAC West Coach of the Year Award for the third time since the pro- gram joined the conference in 2008. Year Overall Conference The Lakers were the only program in the country, at any division, to stake the 2002 2-9 1-9 (GLIAC) claim of starting 0-4 and then winning their fi nal seven games of the season. With the 7-4 fi nish, Schaetzle has now led the Lakers to a third consecutive winning 2003 5-6 4-6 (GLIAC) season - the longest string of winning seasons since the program rattled off six 2004 4-7 4-6 (GLIAC) straight from 1983-1989. Schaetzle has gone 23-10 over the three year stretch.
