Previous meetings • The first leg was the clubs' first meeting and Krasnodar's first encounter with Turkish opposition. • Fenerbahçe's seven games against Russian teams have ended W2 D3 L2 (W2 D1 in Turkey). Form guide • Fenerbahçe are unbeaten in nine European home games (W8 D1), including a run of seven straight UEFA successes in Istanbul. • Prior to their first-leg victory, Krasnodar were without a win in their last four continental matches (D1 L3), including defeats in their two most recent away games. • Semi-finalists in 2012/13, Fenerbahçe eliminated another Russian outfit, Lokomotiv Moskva, in last season's round of 32 before succumbing to Braga in the round of 16. • Krasnodar also reached the last 32 last term – only their second European campaign – but crashed 4-0 on aggregate to Sparta Praha. Links and trivia • The journey from Krasnodar to Istanbul is a little over 900km, across the Black Sea. • Krasnodar's Vladimir Bystrov, Dmitri Torbinski, Marat Izmailov and Pavel Mamaev played under Fenerbahçe boss Dick Advocaat during his time as Russia coach (July 2010 to June 2012). • Fenerbahçe centre-back Martin Škrtel (Zenit 2004–08) has Russian league experience – Škrtel played alongside Bystrov at Zenit in 2005. • Emmanuel Emenike (Spartak Moskva, July 2011 to August 2013) also played in Russia, with Krasnodar's Ari among his team-mates in Moscow. • Other former team-mates: Ari (Krasnodar) & Jeremain Lens (Fenerbahçe) – AZ Alkmaar, 2008–10 • Fenerbahçe's Moussa Sow made his 50th UEFA competition appearance in the first leg on 16 February. • Krasnodar midfielder Tornike Okriashvili spent the latter part of 2015/16 in Turkey with Eskişehirspor, on loan from Belgian side Genk. • Fenerbahçe's Roman Neustädter collected his first Russia cap on 1 June 2016 and featured at UEFA EURO 2016 later that month; he was born in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, but has never played club football in Russia. • Izmailov and Fenerbahçe reserve goalkeeper Fabiano were colleagues at Porto (2013–15). The coaches • Advocaat is in his first campaign with Fenerbahçe. The one-time Oranje and Russia boss has won domestic championships in the Netherlands (with PSV Eindhoven), Scotland (Rangers) and Russia (Zenit), having also guided Zenit to 2007/08 UEFA Cup glory. • Advocaat was made an Honorary Citizen of Saint Petersburg after that 2008 UEFA Cup success – the first foreigner to receive the honour since 1866. • Igor Shalimov stepped in to take temporary command of Krasnodar on 13 September 2016 following Oleg Kononov's resignation. The former USSR, CIS and Russia midfielder, who helped Internazionale Milano lift the UEFA Cup in 1994, had been on Kononov's staff, working with the club's strikers. Penalty shoot-outs • Fenerbahçe won their only previous UEFA penalty shoot-out: W 3-2 A v Sevilla (2007/08 UEFA Champions League round of 16) • Krasnodar have yet to figure in a UEFA penalty shoot-out. 3 Fenerbahçe SK - FC Krasnodar Wednesday 22 February 2017 - 18.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit Şükrü Saracoğlu, Istanbul Team facts Fenerbahçe SK Formed: 1907 Nickname: Sarı Kanaryalar (Yellow Canaries) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • None Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 19 (2014) Turkish Cup: 6 (2013) Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2015/16: round of 16 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2014/15: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2013/14: UEFA Champions League play-offs 2012/13: semi-finals (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: play-offs (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2009/10: round of 32 2008/09: UEFA Champions League group stage 2007/08: UEFA Champions League quarter-finals 2006/07: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 5-0: Fenerbahçe v Turan Tovuz 09/08/94, UEFA Cup preliminary round first leg • Biggest away win 0-5 twice, most recently v MTK Budapest 06/08/08, UEFA Champions League second qualifying round second leg • Heaviest home defeat 1-5: Fenerbahçe v Cannes 27/09/94, UEFA Cup first round second leg 0-4 twice, most recently v AC Milan 23/11/05, UEFA Champions League group stage • Heaviest away defeat 7-0: Benfica v Fenerbahçe 17/09/75, European Champion Clubs' Cup first round first leg UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 5-0: Fenerbahçe v Turan Tovuz (see above) • Biggest away win 0-4: Partizani v Fenerbahçe 22/08/95, preliminary round second leg • Heaviest home defeat 1-5: Fenerbahçe v Cannes (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 7-1: Sigma Olomouc v Fenerbahçe 04/11/92, second round second leg FC Krasnodar Formed: 2008 Nickname: Byki (The Bulls) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • none Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) 4 Fenerbahçe SK - FC Krasnodar Wednesday 22 February 2017 - 18.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit Şükrü Saracoğlu, Istanbul None Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2015/16: round of 32 2014/15: group stage 2013/14: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2012/13: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2009/10: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2008/09: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA club competition Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 5-0: Krasnodar v Sillimäe Kalev 24/07/14, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round second leg • Biggest away win 1-5: Diósgyőr v Krasnodar 31/07/14, UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg 0-4: Sillimäe Kalev v Krasnodar 27/07/14, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-3: Krasnodar v Sparta Praha 25/02/16, UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg • Heaviest away defeat 5-1: Wolfsburg v Krasnodar 06/11/14, UEFA Europa League group stage UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 5-0: Krasnodar v Sillimäe Kalev (see above) • Biggest away win 1-5: Diósgyőr v Krasnodar (see above) 0-4: Sillimäe Kalev v Krasnodar (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 0-3: Krasnodar v Sparta Praha (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 5-1: Wolfsburg v Krasnodar (see above) 5 Fenerbahçe SK - FC Krasnodar Wednesday 22 February 2017 - 18.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit Şükrü Saracoğlu, Istanbul Squad list Fenerbahçe SK Current season All-time UCL QUAL UEL League UEL UEFA No.
