TheThe DistrictDistrict The Bishop McCort Catholic High School is well known and well respected for a rigorous academic program, outstanding athletic teams and excellent fine arts programs.

Bishop McCort Catholic High School currently offers eight Advanced Placement (AP) courses and twenty-three Honors level courses. Several of these courses are also available for college credit at one of three accredited colleges/university. The science department has partnerships with Windber Research Institute, National Institutes of Health, and Trout in the Classroom, each of which enhances the rigorous science curriculum. The class of 2012 alone was awarded $8.2 million in post-secondary scholarships.

The Crusher athletic program is one of success and tradition, helping students to develop to their full potential. Over twenty varsity sports programs are available for students. The football program has produced six professional football players. The hockey, cheerleading, boys , girls basketball, and baseball teams combined have earned twenty-nine state championships, most recently with the 2012 Class A state baseball title and the 2012 AA state cheerleading title. Currently Bishop McCort holds five district/conference championship titles and last year had state qualifiers from three sports.

The athletic program is further enhanced (as is the overall health and well-being of all of our students) by the 2010 addition of the $3 million Bach Wellness Center. This 14,436-square-foot building includes a weight room, a fitness area, and an auxiliary gymnasium available for use by all of the school's athletic teams.

In addition to our academic program and athletics, Bishop McCort also has a well-established fine arts program, including a range of art classes, theater arts, and music. The music department offers instruction in strings, orchestra, instrumental music, and vocals (including A cappella). The extra-curricular program offers the drama club which presents two annual productions each year including a fall play and a spring musical, both of which have consistently been performed to sold-out shows and feature the talents of many students. The art program features student artists who regularly showcase their artwork throughout the community.
