2014 Tar Heel Field Hockey Up next for the Tar Heels UNC plays its fifth game of the season and third at home on Friday, hosting Syracuse at Francis E. Henry Stadium. The Tar Heels are 4-0 and ranked No. 1 in this week’s national poll. Syracuse is 5-0 and ranked fifth. Friday’s game is the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams. After hosting Syracuse, Carolina takes to the road for its next four games – two in Louisville, Ky., and two in Newton, Mass. The Tar Heels won’t play in Chapel Hill again until Oct. 3, when they host Virginia. ACC teams have won 17 of the 33 NCAA titles, including 10 of the last 12, and at least one ACC Player of the Week ACC squad has advanced to the national championship for 15 straight years.
