Boasting the world heritage site Longmen Grottoes and adjacent location to the famous Shaoling Temple, it is a popular destination in central China. Longmen Grottoes, The Longmen Grottoes are located in the south of Luoyang City. They are between Mount Xiang and Mount Longmen and face Yi River. Longmen Grottoes, Yungang Caves and Mogao Caves are regarded as the three most famous treasure houses of stone inscriptions in China. Lots of historical materials concerning art, music, religion, calligraphy, medicine, costume and architecture are kept here. Shaolin Temple, in the region of Song Mountain, Dengfeng City, Henan Province, is reputed to be 'the Number One Temple under Heaven'. Included on UNESCO's World Cultural & Natural Heritage List in 2010, it is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism and the Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel.     Establishing 15 IP Tribunals Nationwide, Chinese Courts Further Concentrate Jurisdiction Over IP Matters March 15, 2018 Patent and ITC Litigation China has continued to develop its adjudicatory framework for intellectual property disputes with the establishment of three Intellectual Property Tribunals (“IP Tribunals”) this month. This reform began with the establishment of three specialized IP Courts in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou at the end of 2014, and has been furthered with the establishment of IP Tribunals in 10 provinces and two cities/municipalities around the country. For companies facing an IP dispute in China, understanding this framework in order to select the appropriate jurisdiction for a case can have a significant impact on the time to resolution, as well as the ultimate merits of the case. Most significantly, through the establishment of these IP Tribunals many Chinese courts have been stripped of their jurisdiction over IP matters in favor of the IP Tribunals. This has led to a fundamental change to the forum selection strategies of both multinational and Chinese companies. The three IP Tribunals established on the first two days of March 2018 are located in Tianjin Municipality, and cities of Changsha and Zhengzhou respectively. This brings the number of IP Tribunals that have been set up across 10 provinces and two cities/municipalities in China since January 2017 to a total of 15. The most unique aspect of the specialized IP Tribunals is that they have cross-regional1 and exclusive jurisdiction over IP matters in significant first-instance2 cases (i.e., those generally including disputes involving patents, new varieties of plants, integrated circuit layout and design, technical-related trade secrets, software, the recognition of well-known trademarks, and other IP cases in which the damages sought exceed a certain amount)3.

    90 ICOMOS–IAU Thematic Study on Astronomical Heritage Archaeological/historical/heritage research: The Taosi site was first discovered in the 1950s. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, archaeologists excavated nine chiefly tombs with rich grave goods, together with large numbers of common burials and dwelling foundations. Archaeologists first discovered the walled towns of the Early and Middle Periods in 1999. The remains of the observatory were first discovered in 2003 and totally uncovered in 2004. Archaeoastronomical surveys were undertaken in 2005. This work has been published in a variety of Chinese journals. Chinese archaeoastronomers and archaeologists are currently conducting further collaborative research at Taosi Observatory, sponsored jointly by the Committee of Natural Science of China and the Academy of Science of China. The project, which is due to finish in 2011, has purchased the right to occupy the main field of the observatory site for two years. Main threats or potential threats to the sites: The most critical potential threat to the observatory site itself is from the burials of native villagers, which are placed randomly. The skyline formed by Taer Hill, which is a crucial part of the visual landscape since it contains the sunrise points, is potentially threatened by mining, which could cause the collapse of parts of the top of the hill. The government of Xiangfen County is currently trying to shut down some of the mines, but it is unclear whether a ban on mining could be policed effectively in the longer term. Management, interpretation and outreach: The county government is trying to purchase the land from the local farmers in order to carry out a conservation project as soon as possible.

It was located near overland trade routes and links to the ports on the Arabian Sea and consequently its art incorporated Indian, Persian and Greco- Roman styles. The latter style, brought to Central Asia by Alexander the Great (327/26–325/24 BCE) during his conquest of the region, particularly influenced the art of Gandhara.     CONFORMED COPY LOAN NUMBER 7909-CN Public Disclosure Authorized Project Agreement Public Disclosure Authorized (Henan Ecological Livestock Project) between INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT Public Disclosure Authorized and HENAN PROVINCE Dated July 26, 2010 Public Disclosure Authorized PROJECT AGREEMENT AGREEMENT dated July 26, 2010, entered into between INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT (the “Bank”) and HENAN PROVINCE (“Henan” or the “Project Implementing Entity”) (“Project Agreement”) in connection with the Loan Agreement of same date between PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (“Borrower”) and the Bank (“Loan Agreement”) for the Henan Ecological Livestock Project (the “Project”). The Bank and Henan hereby agree as follows: ARTICLE I – GENERAL CONDITIONS; DEFINITIONS 1.01. The General Conditions as defined in the Appendix to the Loan Agreement constitute an integral part of this Agreement. 1.02. Unless the context requires otherwise, the capitalized terms used in the Project Agreement have the meanings ascribed to them in the Loan Agreement or the General Conditions. ARTICLE II – PROJECT 2.01. Henan declares its commitment to the objective of the Project. To this end, Henan shall: (a) carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of Article V of the General Conditions; and (b) provide promptly as needed, the funds, facilities, services and other resources required for the Project. 2.02. Without limitation upon the provisions of Section 2.01 of this Agreement, and except as the Bank and Henan shall otherwise agree, Henan shall carry out the Project in accordance with the provisions of the Schedule to this Agreement.
