Her work draws from memory and emotion to remind viewers of youth, innocence and the timeless space we occupy when we are young. She creates lively and childlike characters, finding inspiration in the works of early Italian Renaissance masters such as Fra Angelico. Wilson graduated from Wellesley College in 1991, and pursued her education in Florence. She received her MFA at New York Academy of Art. Wilson worked as a painting assistant to Jeff Koons for two years, launching the Wilson + Geary Contemporary pop-up gallery in New York City. In 2007, Wilson had her first solo exhibition “Yüzücüler” in Istanbul and has since held many solo exhibitions in Turkey, including a 2015 solo exhibition "Little Friends" at Pg Art Gallery in Istanbul. She has had two solo exhibitions at Geary Contemporary. Charles Andresen Charles Andresen, born in Arizona, has been employed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the past twenty-five years. He has been making "throw paintings" for nearly three decades, wherein spoonfuls of viscous acrylic are flung upon stretched canvas. Hurling and plopping paint in this manner yields unexpected shapes and patterns, serving as a tool for Andresen to uncover fictive space and imagery. He sees his method as an extension of Surrealist automatism, an act of discovery, and a way to assemble a puzzle. Recently, Andresen has been making “nocturnes” using light-tinted lines and dots atop very deep grounds, and medium-toned work with darker markings. Andresen graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he trained as a realist oil painter. He was awarded a 2015 residency at the Elaine de Kooning House on Long Island. Recent exhibitions include Christian Berst, NY; The Green Gallery, Milwaukee, WI; Guided By Invoices Gallery, NY; Susanne Hilberry Gallery, Ferndale, MI; Derek Eller Gallery, NY; James Fuentes Gallery, NY; and Turner Byrne & Runyon, Dallas, TX. Deborah Brown Deborah Brown has spent the last twelve years in the Bushwick and East Williamsburg neighborhoods of Brooklyn, NY. Her recent series, “Runaways”, incorporates the landscape of the North Brooklyn Industrial Business Zone as the location for a series of narrative paintings. In this work, a female heroine is accompanied by various animal companions in a picaresque spree where she navigates an exotic and unfamiliar world, enticing the audience to follow her on a path of surprise, threat and wonder. The paintings are composed of thick slabs of paint applied with a palette knife and punctuated by linear passages and off-register color patches, a fractured, brooding landscape that mirrors the internal psyche of the protagonist. The paintings channel feelings of abjection, strength and freedom, offering a subtext of feminine empowerment and artistic discovery. Brown has an MFA from Indiana University and a BA from Yale. Recent exhibitions include Lesley Heller Workspace, NY; Mike Weiss Gallery, NY; Life on Mars, Brooklyn, NY; BravinLee programs, Brooklyn, NY; and Ober Gallery, Kent, CT. She has an upcoming solo exhibition at Geary Contemporary in September 2017. Sangram Majumdar Born in Kolkata, India, Sangram Majumdar is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. He finds inspiration in the aesthetic parallels between Italian and Indian artworks, the relative nature of color, and the fictional enterprise of painting and its relation to other modes of artmaking. Majumdar aims to make work that engages a participatory connection between the subject and viewer, opening the door for narrative, memories, and direct sensory encounters. His paintings function as questions, hints, whispers, and invitations to wander. Majumdar has an MFA from Indiana University, a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally. He has lectured on his work at numerous colleges including SVA, Pratt, RISD, PAFA, SUNY-Purchase, Princeton University and the New York Studio School. His work will be featured in a solo exhibition at Asia Society in Houston, Texas from April 22 - Sept 10, 2017, with an opening reception on Friday, April 21 from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Additional recent solo exhibitions include Georgetown University, DC; Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, NY; Rothschild Fine Art, Tel Aviv, Israel, and the Kresge Art Museum, MI. Majumdar has been awarded a MacDowell Fellowship, a residency at Yaddo, and the 2009-10 Marie Walsh Sharpe Studio Space Program Grant.
