Giordano Lupini Fourth-generation racer Giordano Lupini is in his second year of main circuit racing in the Engen Volkswagen Cup following a successful learning year in the Bold Marine WP GTi Challenge, where he improved steadily since his first race at the tender age of 14 to win races toward the end of his rookie season. While his first races have proved technically challenging, Giordano quickly settled into the Polo Cup top 10, where he has qualified 9th for both the Killarney and Kyalami rounds Giordano was born into a racing family - his great-grandfather competed in the Mille Miglia in the late-1920s and grandpa was a contemporary of Basil van Rooyen, Arnold Chatz and Jan Hettema in the 1950s and '60s, while dad Michele has raced extensively on track and stages since the '80s and still races on occasion. Giordano started racing 60cc primary school Maxterino karts at the age of ten in 2011 and was soon winning at national level - most notably at a drenched Killarney in 2012. He moved up to Junior Max karts in 2013, where he enjoyed a competitive 2015 before becoming the youngest WP driver to ever race at Killarney at just 14 at the end of that year. • Mille Miglia
MILLE MIGLIA A UNIQUE EVENT For 30 years, Mille Miglia has been bringing together exeptional personalities to the world of sport. Today, the reenactment of the Mille Miglia is an event in a class of its own. Mille Miglia has combined tradition with innovation, and vividly coloured that combination with creativity, elegance, beautiful scenery and the Italian way of living. This plethora of rich elements has made the Mille Miglia a symbol of Italian excellence all over the world. Brescia's great passion for motor vehicles prompted them to set up their own Automobile Club in 1906. However, it remained under the wings of the Milan Automobile Club until 1926, when the official Brescia Automobile Club was established under the new rules of the Royal Automobile Club of Italy. These regulations were then officially instituted by the law-decree of November 14, 1926. This decree granted the establishment of the Brescia Automobile Club, as well as the Public Motor Vehicle Registry (PRA). On January 18, 1927, official offices opened on Corso Magenta, where the preparation activities for the first Mille Miglia Cup began to take place. From that day on, the name "Mille Miglia" along with "Red Arrow" trademark have remained the inalienable property of the Brescia Automobile Club. Since its inception, the Brescia Automobile Club has kept its tradition alive of being one of the most important worldwide associations for sports events. Some of the competitions organized by ACI Brescia included: "Circuito di Brescia", "Circuito di Garda", "Brescia-Edolo-Pontedilegno", "Colle S. Eusebio", "Trofeo Lumezzane" and "Cronoscalata del Monte Maddalena".

The endurance and Monoposto specialist, born in Stuttgart in 1928, is regarded as one of the most reliable and consistent race drivers of all time. In the course of his motor sport career, Hans Herrmann won more than 80 overall and best in class victories, most of them for Porsche. www.porscheroadandrace.com Mille Miglia, 1954: Hans Herrmann and Herbert Linge after their victory www.porscheroadandrace.com The proverbial Hans im Glück (Hans in luck) at the wheel celebrated his greatest successes with sports cars from Zuffenhausen: in the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio, the Carrera Panamericana and of course in Le Mans, with the first overall victory for Porsche in 1970, driving a 917. His career began appropriately, in 1952, in a private Porsche 356, in which he took part in hill climbs, rallies and reliability runs. The very next year, he came fifth in the Lyon-Charbonnières Rally together with Richard von Frankenberg in a Porsche 356. Thereupon Porsche’s racing manager at that time, Huschke von Hanstein, brought him into Porsche works team. In 1953, Herrmann made his debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans where, together with co-pilot Helm Glöckler in a Porsche 550 Coupé, he secured a best in class victory in the category up to 1.5 litres capacity.
