2016 Coordinator, Sexual Offense Services Family Justice Center of St. Joseph County, South Bend, IN Provided direct service as needed to victims of sexual violence. Trained, coordinated and offered continuing education for the 35+ volunteer advocates who provide 24/7 advocacy and hospital accompaniment for victims of sexual violence in St. Joseph County. Coordinated education and outreach efforts to groups in all sectors of the local community on topics related to sexual violence. Coordinated and facilitated the meetings of the County’s Sexual Assault Resource Team, a federally-mandated group comprised of legal, medical, law enforcement, higher education and advocacy practitioners who determine the community’s protocols for responding to sexual assault.

Fall 2015 Instructor, Foundations of Theology Course Department of Theology, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Designed and executed a syllabus around the theme of human response to God’s gratuity (gift and responsibility) for this 3 c.u. first-course in theology, a required course for all Notre Dame undergraduates. Taught essentials from the Old Testament, New Testament and the Early Church to 35 first-year students, including concepts such as the formation, literary genres and theologies of the Bible. Tutored three varsity student-athletes weekly.

Fall 2015 Instructor, Moreau First Year Experience Course First Year of Studies, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Facilitated weekly class sessions and graded weekly written work on a variety of topics for a group of 18 first-year students in the inaugural semester of this 1 c.u. University- required course. The goals of the course included: helping students transition to college life; nurturing students’ cultural competency, academic success, spiritual development, and personal discernment skills.

Summer 2015 Guest Lecturer, Summer Scholars Gender Studies Course Office of Pre-College Programs, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Taught an afternoon of “feminist theology” to the 18 high school students who took this summer course on Gender Studies as an academic discipline.

Summer 2015 Guest Presenter, Volunteers in Transition Program Mendoza College of Business and the Center for Social Concerns, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Co-designed and co-led, with Kevin Sandburg, C.S.C., an afternoon of spiritual reflection for 35 individuals who are transitioning from post-graduate volunteer experience into employment/career.

2012-2013 Initiator and Coordinator, University Village “Healthy Living Series” University Village, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Led the team that solicited and won back-to-back grants from Notre Dame’s , making possible a series of workshops presented by local experts on topics related to healthy living: conflict resolution skills in marriage; healthy eating and cooking; winning your child’s cooperation; common issues in pediatric medicine, etc.

2011-2014 Assistant Catechist, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Good Shepherd Montessori School, South Bend, IN For two years+, assisted the head catechist weekly in this Montessori-based catechetical program for 6 to 9-year-olds.

2007-2010 Founder and Catechist, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) University Village, Notre Dame, IN Established CGS at University Village, Notre Dame’s student-family housing. Co-led weekly sessions for 15 children ages 3 to 6. Prepared a small group of children to celebrate First Eucharist and Reconciliation. Certified CGS Level I catechist.

2007-2010 Liturgical Coordinator for Catholic Community University Village, Notre Dame, IN Attended to details that fostered a prayerful experience of Sunday Mass: prepared the environment according to the liturgical season; recruited and trained volunteers to minister as lectors and extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist.

Summer 2008 Assistant Editor, Professor Gary Anderson’s As We Forgive Our Debtors: A Short History of Sin Department of Theology, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN Read manuscript of this ‘trade book’ for coherence and intelligibility from my perspective as an educated lay reader. 2006-2007 Prayer Leader and Montessori Assistant, South Bend Center for the Homeless South Bend, IN Initiated and led weekly morning prayer for 5-10 female residents of the shelter. Assisted one morning per week in the Montessori preschool classroom.

2002-2006 Director of Religious Education, St. Pius X Parish Tucson, AZ Responsible for catechetical outreach to parish children (grades K-6) and their families. Coordinated weekly religious education classes for 500 children and 50 volunteer catechists; planned and led First Eucharist and Reconciliation preparation sessions for 150 children and their parents annually; organized Summer Vacation Bible School for 150 children and 60 volunteers annually; planned and led monthly family catechesis sessions; worked collaboratively with other members of the Parish staff.

2002-2006 Participant, Diocese of Tucson Office of Social Mission Tucson, AZ Participated on the Diocesan Social Mission Team. Supported efforts to raise awareness at the diocesan and parish level about the humanitarian crisis facing migrants in the Sonoran desert. Participated in cross-border educational trips.

2002-2006 Leader, Pima County Interfaith Council Tucson, AZ Represented my parish in this grass-roots, community-organizing group that is an affiliate of the national Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). Learned effective means of integrating faith values with political participation. Contributed to successful efforts that: passed a City living wage ordinance, defeated anti-immigrant legislation, prevented cuts to the City’s adult education budget. Promoted USCCB’s Faithful Citizenship in local parishes.

Summer 2002 Crisis Counselor, Casa Amparo Shelter Tucson, AZ Did advocacy and education work with the residents of this monolingual Spanish- speaking shelter run by The Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services.

1999-2001 Holy Cross Associate Calle Larga, Chile Served two years in rural Chile with the lay formation program sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. In a local squatter community, initiated and led a weekly fellowship and skills-development group for women, and a similar group for children.
