" Our Domain is located in Nothalten, a small village in the heart of Alsace on the Wine Route, halfway between the Haut- Koenigsbourg and the Mont Sainte Odile. Arnaud, who has been the winemaker since 2002, manages the 24 hectares of vines. He is assisted by his wife Sophie who takes care of the commercial part. The vineyard is made up of the 7 Alsatian grape varieties: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Muscat, Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. We exploit about 80 plots of land, including several in the Appellation Alsace Grand Cru MUENCHBERG and Alsace Grand Cru MOENCHBERG. We put all our energy and experience of winegrower in the work of the ground and the vine because we consider that to produce a great wine, it is necessary above all to take care of the vine. Like a child whom we see grow and blossom, we pamper our vines so that they can provide quality grapes that fully express the terroir in which they have matured. We have our own specifications that reconcile three main axes: *Sustainable and ecologically responsible viticulture *Human & Environment *Constant quality of the wines, elaborated as naturally as possible, by letting nature do its work. We protect our vines only when necessary, always with a benevolent eye on our environment and ourselves. Our plots are grassed as soon as the young vines are planted; the grass that grows between the rows is then rolled and laid to the ground during the summer season, thanks to a Rolofaca attached to the back of the tractor. The advantage of this ecological and economical technique (because the roller follows the relief of the soil without any energy demand) is to realize an insulating mulch for the soil, which will keep a certain humidity and freshness during the very hot summers that we know in our region. This is to guarantee a small amount of water necessary for the development of young vines. Our wines come from privileged soils where the geology, the climate and the exposure form an exceptional combination. Our vineyard is made up of about 80 parcels, very diverse in terms of surface area, soil, subsoil, slope and exposure. The parcels are spread over 4 communes: Nothalten, Epfig, Itterswiller and Eichhoffen, within a radius of a few kilometers. Our Domain produces all the Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay for the elaboration of Crémant d'Alsace. ITTERSWILLER La carretera continuaba para desaparecer, casi en seguida, detrás de un desnivel. No se veía casa alguna más allá de ese límite, solo una extensión inmensa de viñedos. En la siguiente curva apareció la aldea de Dambach, no tenía prevista su visita, pero me sorprendió agradablemente el atravesarla por su puerta fortificada y recorrerla brevemente antes de salir por otra puerta. Volvería para visitarla después. Itterswiller aparecía delante como si estuviera emergiendo de las entrañas de la tierra. Era como un arrullo, un sortilegio que te domina para caer bajo el hechizo de una aparición casi teatral. Aunque en aquel escenario mágico, nada resultaba demasiado extravagante. El silencio absoluto reinaba en torno a las viñas de Itterswiller, un viento caliente brotaba de los campos, hacia vibrar el aire y movía las imágenes. Este inusual pueblo vinícola se estiraba a lo largo de la ladera sobre una colina bañada por el sol y emplazado en medio de los viñedos, lo que le daba un aspecto original y pintoresco. Bellas mansiones floreadas bordeaban la única calle en la que había puntos panorámicos, que permitían contemplar un paisaje donde los viñedos se extendían ondulantes hasta el horizonte, bajo un sol brillante. A estas alturas del viaje ya había descubierto la fértil imprevisibilidad de la existencia. Su ubicación, en medio del viñedo omnipresente, su cuidada arquitectura y su panorámica había sido mejorada hasta lo increíble.
