Yves Tumor (US) and Anna Zaradny (POL) This Is Not This Heat (UK) visit CLICK Festival 2017 2016-12-14 10:06 CET CLICK Festival 2017 launches first music acts: This Is Not This Heat (UK), Yves Tumor (US) and Anna Zaradny (POL) CLICK Festival looks forward to invite our guests on a variety of extraordinary experiences within the field of arts, technology and science in shipyard halls and at the Culture Yard in Elsinore, Denmark, 20-21 May 2017. The coming festival includes several of our own productions, as well as specially curated constellations with artists from both home and abroad. CLICK Festival will continuously release program for the upcoming festival, which also includes talks, performances, installations and workshops. Initially, the festival is proud to announce the following three artists on the music program in 2017: THIS IS NOT THIS HEAT (UK) On the 13 February 1976, experimental rock band This Heat played its first show. Now, 40 years later, founding members Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward reunite, joined by a host of special guests, to perform new interpretations of their music. Arguably the most inventive band to emerge from the UK’s fruitful DIY scene in the 70s, This Heat’s career may have been short-lived, but its legacy continues to grow in stature and relevance. Still sounding as wild and original as when it was written, their music has as much in common with modern composers like John Cage as their art-rock contemporaries Gang of Four and The Pop Group.Read more YVES TUMOR (US) Yves Tumor is the inspired, enigmatic and conflicted persona of Tennessee- raised producer/performer Sean Bowie, a conduit for a distinctly bold personal aesthetic that has wrought the entrancing Serpent Music LP (out now on PAN), and a burgeoning reputation for bruising, invigorating live performance. Evolved from a diverse and prolific creative history under an expansive plethora of covert aliases, plus strong ties with forward-thinkers such as NON and Mykki Blanco, Yves Tumor emerges as Bowie’s most personal and matured incarnation to date, with Serpent Music his strongest recorded statement. Read more ANNA ZARADNY (POL) The creativity of Anna Zaradny is expressed through sound and visual art. As a composer and instrumentalist Anna Zaradny works in a wide spectrum of genres: from acoustic improvised music with a contemporary minimalist language to the complex structures of experimental electronic music compositions. As a visual artist, Zaradny creates in various media including installations, objects, photography and video. She uses abstraction, micro sound and architectonic elements, lights and space. Her pieces are marked by the ambiguity and the relationship between medium and ideas. Read more CLICK Festival 2017 takes place from 20 – 21 May 2017 in Elsinore. • OOFJ Talks Performance,Gallant Performs in Gardner,Ambré Perkins
OOFJ talks performance Emma Roszkowski [email protected] OOFJ features Jens Bjørnkjær as DJ and Katherine Mills Rymer on vocals. Photo by Jun Taek Lee “It’s kind of hard for me, being very interactive with the crowd.” Though this statement could pose challenges for an upcoming artist, OOFJ has made their onstage shyness work for them. This past Saturday, Sept. 19, in Gardner Lounge, the Danish/South African duo of Jens Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills Rymer performed a set that held audiences rapt, even as the performers downplayed the influence of audience feedback on their sets. “I do a lot of pushing buttons during the show and trying to improvise the show. Of course you get the reaction from the crowd, but it’s also very busy doing just the actual work, trying to make something sound as cool as you can,” Bjørnkjær said. “I find it very hard to have a stage banter like, ‘Hey everyone, we are OOFJ,’” Rymer added. “I might say three or four words in an hour and that’s kind of fine and, in some ways, it keeps this environment and this world without me going, ‘And now the next thing is…thank you for being here.’” In terms of creating a unique environment using only their eerie blends of classical and electronic influences, OOFJ delivered. While the duo remained insulated within their own world—Rymer, eyes closed or fixed on Bjornkjær, crooned into the mic while she bounced along to the beat. Bjørnkjær, for his part, remained intent on his work and barely glanced up from the sound board—they managed to transport the audience as well.

Yves Tumor [Warp Records] September 2018 Yves Tumor? Try to unravel, and the dimensions and personas spill out like the cracked and warped contents of a grotesquely beautiful matryoshka doll. A gothic soundscape auteur? Details are scant, so the music does most of the talking… To see Yves Tumor step upon a stage is to be thrashed by a howling cyberpunk fiend - yet filter the recorded output and be treated to a kaleidoscopic union of classic songwriting and lobotomized sound experiments. The duality unveils subtly but hints and images can be parsed from music and lyrics, giving that impression that on experience and listen it just might be possible that everything will come into a pop perfect focus. (Download hi-res packshot) The new album, “Safe in the Hands of Love” will be released digitally on September 5 and on CD / 2LP on October 14. The album is Yves Tumor’s first on Warp Records. LISTEN HERE Safe In The Hands of Love was introduced via a handful of single drops including “Noid” (Pitchfork Best New Track), a Daniel Sannwald-directed video “Licking An Orchid (ft James K)” and “Lifetime” a psychedelic pop ballad premiered by Zane Lowe as a ‘World First’ on Beats 1.
