FROM LAUSANNE TO 8th INTERNATIONAL FIBER ART BIENNALE

■ FOREWORD

Since 2000,"From Lausanne to Beijing" international fiber art exhibition has been held for 7 sessions which has come through 14 years. It has gradually become an international well-known brand with a development pattern of popularization, socialization and internationalization. Among the exhibitions, the 7th biennial held in Nantong became the world's largest fiber art exhibition with more than 800 sign up work from 37 countries, and more than 5000 square meters of exhibition space. In 2014, with the invitation of the Nantong government, the 8th biennale will still be held in 1895 creative cultural industry park in Nantong City. We sincerely welcome all domestic and foreign artists, entrepreneurs, and academic friends to join and support the exhibition.

■ PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS 1. No restriction on fiber materials, form, or style; two-dimensional (2-D) or three-dimensional (3-D) work.

2. The gallery has 320cm high walls for 2-D works, and 600cm high space for 3-D works.

3. Shipping container or box must not exceed 120cm x 120cm x 50cm. The length of a tube or cylinder must not exceed 120cm.

4. Application time:June 1th – July 1th,2014. (Entry must arrive before the end of day, July 1, 2014. No exceptions.)

5. Image Submission (1)Application work may be submitted with two ways and will be used to print the catalogue.

Digital Image Submission High-resolution: 300-350 pixels/inch; tiff or jpg format. Do not use interpolation or photo editing software to change the image in any way. Email: [email protected]

(2)Each work submitted must have a separate application form. The form may be photocopied.

6. Selection: Work will be selected by an evaluation committee. Notification of the jury decision will be sent to the artists by the organizing committee before July. 15,2014.

8. The selected works will be assembled into "From Lausanne to Beijing 8th International Fiber Art Biennale Catalogue" by China Architecture & Building Press.

■ NOTICE For international participants, the art work must be shipped by international post office to C322,Fiber Art Institute, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University , Beijing, China

The artist is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. The organizing committee will pay for the return shipping.
