Medical facilities are limited in Tonga, although they are adequate for minor problems. There are hospitals in Tongatapu, Ha’apai, and Vava’u. Consultations are free at public hospitals and health centers for Tongan citizens, but foreigners will pay a token fee for consultations and medicine. At private clinics, consultation fees vary from TOP$10.00 to $30.00.
