You may not need files for most quick fixes. It's an unnerving, calculating episode, where the mere appearance of Modell onscreen spells very bad thing. There's also a lot of heart in the episode, with Boyle portraying a sensitive, gruff loner dealing with the worst of curses. The episode seems to be heavily influenced by the works of H. Essentially, the episode is about the government using television signals to drive people to madness. This not only makes filing faster but makes it much easier to find documents afterward. An FBI manhunt ensues, with agents in pursuit of an antagonist that can alter their very perceptions of reality. The beauty of customizing your filing system this way is that it can always be further subdivided and organized if you need to. This grisly, nightmare-inducing episode about an inbred family of killers was so terrifying and controversial that Fox famously decreed that it would never be aired again after its initial broadcast prompted a flood of complaints from concerned viewers. I could stop at that as a reason to watch, but there's more. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site. As the agents investigate a series of murders, they uncover evidence of a Satanic cult at work, including possibly Satan in its midst. How to Get Started With Welding. While much of the truly occult Satan, demons, and very bad things was left up to Millennium, The X-Files could rise to the occasion when asked. He uses it mostly to dupe women into having sex with him, fathering a series of children by impersonating their husbands or, in one case, Luke Skywalker. But the detached, creepy man may have more going on than meets the eye. That's what makes "Release" such a fascinating episode. A tone-shifter that tells the terrifying story of a killer who can get in and out of any space — no matter how small — in pursuit of his prey, the episode became the first of many monster-of-the-week stories that became one of the hallmarks of the series. The Complete X-Files Reviews This was the episode that truly established The X-Files as a vehicle for horror stories as much as conspiracy theories, urban legends, and sci-fi tales. In this case, it was telling the same story twice in one episode, first from Scully's point of view, and then from Mulder's. Traditional mainstream media images of Witches tell us they are evil “devil worshipping baby killers,” green-skinned hags who fly on brooms, or flaky tree huggers who dance naked in the woods. A variety of mainstream media has worked to support these notions as well as develop new ones. Contemporary American popular culture shows us images of Witches on television shows and in films vanquishing demons, traveling back and forth in time and from one reality to another, speaking with dead relatives, and attending private schools, among other things. None of these mainstream images acknowledge the very real beliefs and traditions of modern Witches and Pagans, or speak to the depth and variety of social, cultural, political, and environmental work being undertaken by Pagan and Wiccan groups and individuals around the world. Utilizing social construction theory, this study examines the “historical process” of the construction of stereotypes surrounding Witches in mainstream American society as well as how groups and individuals who call themselves Pagan and/or Wiccan have utilized the only media technology available to them, the internet, to resist and re- construct these images in order to present more positive images of themselves as well as build community between and among Pagans and nonPagans.

Law Enforcement Recruitment and Training Introduction Law enforcement agencies across the country are facing critical challenges in recruiting, retaining, and training officers. These challenges do not discriminate—small, medium, large, local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies are all affected. One of the most significant challenges facing the field today is sustaining staffing levels. With increased demands to tackle issues like public health, school safety, and housing, the law enforcement field is a challenging work environment, and it is critical for officers to join, stay, and receive proficient training during their tenure. Law enforcement executives should start with the end in mind: change the recruitment process and position descriptions to gain a dedicated, long-term workforce.1 Before the recruitment process, executives should determine the characteristics they need in a law enforcement officer. From those characteristics, executives should build profiles of ideal recruits. Using this approach, agencies can target individuals who meet the established criteria and increase the efficiency of recruiting. Across all agencies, there is a high amount of competitive pressure to keep good officers. Officers will leave for better salaries, benefits, pensions, other perks, or completely leave the profession for various reasons. Therefore, once officers are hired, agencies must protect their personnel investments. Law enforcement officers want to maintain morale and build a sense of commitment to the community, to other officers, and to the agency. For the agency to be successful and for its officers to grow in their profession, agency leadership and line-level officers must maintain strong relationships.

  • Art of the X-Files
    On May 19th 2013, fans of The X-Files were given a rare treat; a chance to spend time with the minds behind the art of The X-Files. The event, held at the iconic Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, and celebrated by the Art Directors Guild Film Society, the American Cinematheque, and The Hollywood Reporter, brought together production designer Corey Kaplan (The X-Files, Scandal, Cold Case, Robbery Homicide Division), writer-producer-director Vince Gilligan (The X-Files, Breaking Bad, The Lone Gunmen, Harsh Realm) and Creator-Writer-Producer-Director Chris Carter (The X-Files, Harsh Realm, Millennium, The Lone Gunmen). Moderated by production designer John Muto (Home Alone, River’s Edge, Terminator 2 3-D), the event presented the art and design of The X-Files by screening “Je Souhaite” and “Triangle” and included a panel discussion. What made this event unique is that as a television viewing audience, we often celebrate and obsess over actors, and at times writers and producers. We become deeply connected to the characters and to the story of the hardships they face. However, the world that is created by the Art Department under the guidance of the Production Designer often goes unmentioned. This is likely due to the ability of the visual medium to submerse the viewer into an environment so compelling that we momentarily suspend belief. We forget the complexities of set design and construction, of picking out the right costumes and maintaining outfit continuity, of choosing makeup that both enhances the character yet seems realistic, of creating convincing special effects, and the arduous search for the perfect location.
