Essex County Council Notice of Making of an Order Highways Act 1980 – Sections 119 & 118 Diversion of Footpaths 20, 22, 23 and 27 Extinguishment of Footpath 77 In the City of Chelmsford Public Path Orders 2017 The above Orders made on 8th December, 2018 under sections 119 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert public footpaths 20, 23, 22 and 27 in the parish of Roxwell in the City of Chelmsford as shown on the Order maps contained in the Orders. Footpath 77 will become a dead end path as a result of these diversions and therefore is considered as not needed for public use. A part length of Footpath 23 Roxwell commencing from grid reference 56335,20820 running in a south westerly direction between farm buildings then in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 123 metres to grid reference 56325,20816, then continuing as Footpath 20 Roxwell running in a west north westerly direction across the field for a final distance of 428 metres to grid reference 56283,20826 will be diverted to a new route commencing at the same starting point and running in a westerly direction for a distance of 103 metres to grid reference 56325,20820, then continues in a west north westerly direction across the field for a final distance of 420 metres to the same point of termination where it continues unaffected. A part length of Footpath 20 Roxwell commencing from grid reference 56325,20816 and running in an easterly then north easterly direction north of the wood known as Ring Grove for a total distance of 475 metres to grid reference 56335,20820 where it connects to Footpath 27 Roxwell will be diverted to a new route starting from the same above point and running in an east south easterly direction to the south side of the wood known as Ring Grove for a total distance of 390 metres to grid reference 56387,20757 where it will connect to the new proposed route of Footpath 27 Roxwell. A part length of Footpath 27 Roxwell of undefined width starting from grid reference 56378,20810 and running in a generally south easterly direction parallel with the brook for a distance of a 945 metres to grid reference 56335,20820 will be diverted to a new route starting from grid reference 56325,20820 and running in a generally south easterly direction alongside the brook for a distance of 558 metres then continuing in a south easterly direction alongside the brook for a distance of 432 metres to the same termination point stated above where it continues unaffected. A part length of Footpath 77 Roxwell of undefined width commencing from grid reference 56379,20803 where it connects to Footpath 76 and running in a south westerly direction for a distance of 54 metres to grid reference 56374,20800 where it connects to Footpath 27 Roxwell will be extinguished as not need for public use. As due to the above diversion it will become a dead end path. A copy of the Orders and Order Maps have been placed in and may be seen free of charge at Chelmsford Borough Council, Civic Offices, Duke Street, Chelmsford and at the Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road, Chelmsford during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and Order map are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at a charge. Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing to Laurence Page and addressed to the Definitive Map Team, Essex County Council, A2, County Hall, Chelmsford CM1 1QH, no later than 18th January, 2018 and should state the grounds on which it is made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex County Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order.
