TWO BELLS February 21, 1927 E TWO BELLS C BOUQUET S Published by and for the Employes of the Los Angeles Railway Vol. VII LOS ANGELES, FEBRUARY 21, 1927 No. 38 We Step to Head of Glass For Witness Record We are all puffed up; inflated; swollen with pride; patting ourselves on the back; admitting that we are good. No argument about it. We step to the head of the class. Here's the reason. The company keeps a record of the average for each month of the num- ber of witnesses per accident 'obtained by each division. Our highest average for the year 1926 was 7.1, made by Division Four. That's only the beginning of the story. Early in 1927, wishing to know just how good we are, we sent out a letter to various railway companies in the United States, requesting their average number of witnesses per accident, and out of a large number of letters sent we received twenty-two replies.
