Tom Gille was declared the winner of last year’s Big 8 race at SPS after Minnesota’s Adam Oxborough finished first but was disqualified upon post-race inspection due to an illegal carburetor... Gille also is the most recent winner in the series, taking the Star Spangled 76 on July 3 at Rockford Speedway... Other winners on the tour this season include Jacob Nottestad at Rockford’s Spring Classic April 17th, Casey Johnson at Slinger Speedway April 25th and current points leader Jon Reynolds Jr. at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 4. Three drivers made their season debuts at SPS last week, including Dave Cabelka, a two-time feature winner last season who won the second heat but then was part of an incident in the feature that resulted in his car resting atop the backstretch wall... Mark Kalata made his first visit to State Park since 2017 and finished a solid third in the feature... Breitenfeldt received a stiff challenge from defending mini stocks champion Garret Strachota, though, as the two raced side-by-side for the final laps before Breitenfeldt hung on to win by a fender... Strachota has been the second to Breitenfeldt in many of those features, and he now has five second-place finishes this season... Chris Boykins continued to be one of the strongest cars in the class this season, setting fast time for the first time this season. Boykins also is the only driver besides Breitenfeldt to register a fea- ture win this season... Brandon Sischo was a double-winner last week, taking the second heat and also his first-ever semi-feature win... This week in State Park Speedway history: July 15th SPS July 21, 1977: Dick Trickle won the second feature and took the Winners overall points title to win the Mid-Season Championship at State Park Speedway. Trickle got by Larry Detjens on the 29th lap of the Auto Select Super Late Models Rockstar Energy Drink Mini second 30-lap feature and also finished second in the night’s first Fast Qualifier: 44-Justin Mondeik, Stocks feature, won by Tom Steuding of Altoona.

The generalization accommodates both ties (of arbitrary order) and partial rankings (complete rankings of subsets of items). By default, the implementation adds a set of pseudo-comparisons with a hypothetical item, ensuring that the underlying network of wins and losses between items is always strongly connected. In this way, the worth of each item always has a finite maximum likelihood estimate, with finite standard error. The use of pseudo-comparisons also has a regularization effect, shrinking the estimated parameters towards equal item worth. In addition to standard methods for model summary, PlackettLuce provides a method to compute quasi standard errors for the item parameters. This provides the basis for comparison intervals that do not change with the choice of identifiability constraint placed on the item parameters. Finally, the package provides a method for model- based partitioning using covariates whose values vary between rankings, enabling the identification of subgroups of judges or settings with different item worths. The features of the package are demonstrated through application to classic and novel data sets. This research is part of cooperative agreement AID-OAA-F-14-00035, which was made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

    CELEBRATING FEST FOR THE 51st TIME! Please join us for an exciting year at the 51st Oktoberfest Race Weekend, October 8-11, 2020. As always, our goal is to provide a fun filled weekend of racing for both the fans and competitors alike. Naturally, the fall colors and enthusiastic crowds are not too bad either. For all those who participated in the past, thank you for your patience and support of this unique racing festival. If this is your first time, we hope this event will meet all your expectations and will provide lots of good memories. Have Fun! Make Friends! Race Safe & Be Happy! GENERAL RACE PROCEDURES: 1) Cars will be lined up by qualifying, points or by a draw system. 2) When possible all races will be pre-staged on the backstretch of the quarter mile 3) This Speedway uses a “fail to tail” system on yellow flags, any cars involved (a spin to avoid or stopping is considered involved) will go to the rear of the field. 4) Any car causing two yellow flags in a race will be sent to the pits. 5) All officials’ decisions are final. 6) A car may be entered in only one division per day; only exception is the Double “O”. 7) Any additional cars advancing to any feature from semi is subject to adjusted payout. 8) Pitting: We will try to get all teams in and out as quickly as possible. Please be patient. 9) To maintain any starting position, race teams are required to help dry the track in the event of rain.
