ONE ROMAN CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY WITH THREE WORSHIP SITES ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, SACRED HEART CHURCH & OUR LADY OF KNOCK SHRINE November 1, 2020 - Feast of All Saints Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy of us. Our Lady of Knock, Intercede for us. St. John the Baptist, Pray for us. As you know, this Tuesday (November 3) is Election Day, which gives all Americans the opportunity to vote on candidates for many different government positions. While we have the “right” to vote, we also have the “responsibility” to show up at the polls (or vote in advance) and a duty to “actually vote!” We also need to do so in the most informed way possible. (Adapted form an article by Professor Emeritus Bernard Evans, St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota.) For more information on this article, please see the U.S. Catholic magazine, November 2020 issue: https://uscatholic.org/articles/202010/how-should-catholics-vote-read-this-guide-before-you-hit-the-polls/ He goes on to point out a number of important reminders for Catholics including, 3 reminders from Catholic Social Teaching – see inside.
