101 Miracles.Pages
Miracles by Joe Sixpack Miracle: a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency (Webster’s). Miracle: A sensibly perceptible effect, surpassing at least the powers of visible nature, produced by God to Witness to some truth or testify to someone’s sanctity (Modern Catholic Dictionary). Ours is a very cynical world. Because we live in a post-Christian era where God is not only no longer believed in but actually mocked, miracles are seen as phenomena that can’t be explained only because we lack the technology to fully understand certain laws of nature. This cynicism has effected the Christian world as well. Even among our separated Protestant brethren I’ve heard it said we are beyond the age of miracles—that miracles no longer take place. Baloney! Miracles take place every single day throughout the world. Some of those miracles are working in a perpetual state, some for the entire two-thousand year existence of the Church. Fact of the matter is, the majority of miracles taking place around the globe happen only in the Roman Catholic Church. Take the incorruptibility of some of the saints for example. From St. Cecilia (d. AD 177) to Padre Pio (d. 1968), we have almost 2,000 years worth of ongoing miracles. Here are just a few of the more than one hundred: St. Catherine Laboure (of the Miraculous Medal) died on December 31, 1876. When her body was exhumed 56 years later it was unblemished. -
Apparitons and Miracles of the Sun Or by Independent Repetitions, As in Scientific Experiments

Their authenticity cannot be checked from the outside Apparitons and miracles of the sun or by independent repetitions, as in scientific experiments. It happened quite often, however, that apparitions were accompanied by “miracles of the sun”. Since they could be observed by hundreds and sometimes even by August Meessen * many thousands of persons, they have a more objective status. It should thus be possible to get things moving, by applying a “lever” to these miracles of the sun. As it is usual in science, we start with a formulation of all conceivable Resumo hypotheses. Hardship, and the Massive Disruption of Our Daily Lives. the Church Is No Stranger to Adversity, Suffering, Or Privation
Pastoral Letter to the Peoole of the Diocese of Las Veqas March 1.8,2020 My Dear Friends in Christ, People across the entire globe have been plunged into a world of hardship and uncertainty as the coronavirus continues to take its toll in every nation. As individuals and families, we are facing the specter of critical illness, cerlain economic hardship, and the massive disruption of our daily lives. The Church is no stranger to adversity, suffering, or privation. in times of difficulty, she has always raised her voice in prayer and earnest supplication, confident that God will hear our every prayer and answer all our pleas. Down through the centuries, the Blessed Mother has played a vitally important role in times of trial, coming to us as a tender Mother, a tireless advocate, steadfast Intercessor, and cherished friend, She has visited her people under the familiar titles of Virgin of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Antipolo, and Our Lady of La Vang. She is beloved in Poland as Our Lady of Czestochowa, in Ireland as Our Lady of Knock, and in Japan as Our Lady of Akita. Mary is revered by the people in Bosnia-Herzegovina as Our Lady of Medugorje, and in Spain, she is treasured as Our Lady of the Pillar. Mary is known in France as Our Lady of Lourdes, and in Portugal as Our Lady of Fatima. On May L3, 1846, the Bishops of the United States unanimously chose the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Patroness of our Nation. Their decision was ratified by Pope Pius IX on February 7 of the following year, Now is the hour to turn to our Blessed Mother for her maternal help. -
Our Lady of Aparecida: Her Story and My Story
Our Lady of Aparecida: Her Story and My Story Back in 1717, when Brazil was a Portuguese colony, local governors had a great importance in society. When the new governor of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais was traveling by the village of Guaretingueta, the local authorities wanted to offer a banquet to the new dignitary. It happened that at the time, there was barely any fish in the Paraiba River. Nonetheless, the three fishermen were determined to catch some fish. After trying all night long, they cast their nets for the last time. It was then that in pulling their nets they found a small terracotta statue of Our Lady, without its head. Puzzled by the strange catch, they threw their nets again and caught the head of the statue. Filled with amazement at the finding, they threw their nets again. This time, there was such a large catch of fish that they had to go ashore to ask for help to pull the net. One of the fishermen brought the statue to his house and there he built a little chapel. The popular devotion grew very quickly as many graces were granted by the intercession of Our Lady and many miracles happened. In 1745, they built a shrine under the name of Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida. From that time on, she is referred to by the nickname of Aparecida (the one who appeared). As the population of Brazil increased, so did the number of Catholics devoted to Our Lady of Aparecida. In 1946, when the shrine could not hold the number of visitors, they began to build what would become the second largest basilica in the world today (second only to St.
