Bolt Cutter

The Bolt Cutter: Pin Made Simple The Bolt Cutter is designed to cut 4.5 mm and 5.0 mm diameter Schanz and Steinmann pins easily and smoothly. It is particularly useful for external fixation applications. With little effort, the Bolt Cutter shears fixation pins with- in 5 mm of the , and does not create burrs.

Bolt Cutter Head

The Bolt Cutter consists of three components: The Bolt Cutter Heads are manufactured of hardened stainless steel. This results in a strong • Two Bolt Cutter Handles [391.78 and 391.79] instrument with wear-resistant cutting edges • Bolt Cutter Head [391.73, 74, 771]. and good corrosion resistance. The Bolt Cutter The mechanical advantage gained by the long Heads are available in three sizes [391.73, 74], handles reduces the force necessary to cut large including an extra long head for cutting diameter pins. 5.0 mm diameter fixation pins [391.771].

Care and Maintenance After each use, the Bolt Cutter Handles and Bolt Cutter Head should be cleaned and lubricated. Regular lubrication is critical to ensure reliable function of the Bolt Cutter Heads. The Bolt Cutter Head must be reassembled properly to ensure proper cutting action and prevent damage to the cutting edges. The cutting edges should be periodically inspected for wear or damage.
