The winner of the 2018 Middle Eastern Architectural Personality of the Year, the Mohamed Makiya Prize for Archi- tecture, which can be given to individuals or organisations, is The Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT.  تميز مؤسسة تعنى بالعمل الثقافي اإلبداعي في مجال العمارة الثالث: األولى، والثانية والثالثة. أما بقية المشاريع فتم االعتراف بها من سررت كثيرا في المشاركة بتحكيم مسابقة »مركز بغداد للتصميم« والعمران، وهي مبادرة دعت لها ودعمتها المرحومة المعمارية زها ضمن بند الجوائز التشجيعية، لما بها من أفكار يصعب إغفالها. الخاصة بجائزة رفعة الجادرجي لهذا العام 2018، وهي إحدى جوائز حديد. »تميز« لالبداع المعماري. نشد برنامج المسابقة لهذا العام، إلى إيجاد توخت لجنة التحكيم في مداولتها للمشاريع، أن تبث رسالة لطالب حلول تصميمية مناسبة لبقايا جدار مبنى المتصرفية القديم في وسط في بداياتها اقتصرت على معماريي العراق من طالب وممارسين، العمارة العراقيين، على وجه الخصوص، مفادها كيفية التعامل مع بغداد التاريخي، مع تأهيل الموقع المجاور له باضافة فضاءات تخدم، لكنها سرعان ما شملت العالم العربي، لتصبح فيما بعد على مستوى موقع كهذا، من خالل إعطاء الحي المكتظ المحيط به، حيزا جاذبا باألساس، االحتياجات الثقافية والفنية. وقد حرصت ادارة تميز ان يكون العالم. في وسط بغداد القديمة، بما يوفره من إمكانات متعددة من وظائف اعضاء تحكيم المسابقة يتألف من معماريين ومهنيين ّمقيمين في وأنشطة تفاعلية ثقافية كانت أم اجتماعية، لتصبح نقطة حيوية امكنة جغرافية مختلفة ويشكلون إثنيات متعددة، ويمتلكون ثقافات وهي مؤسسة تربط بين األجيال والثقافات، وتحتضن من ضمن جاذبة. متفادين أي عوامل ابهار واغتراب عن طبيعة المكان. مهنية متنوعة، مما جعل النقاش حول المشاريع المشاركة في المسابقة أنشطتها جوائز بأسماء مشاهير المعماريين العراقيين، يتسم بثراء مهني، وفي كثير من األحيان، انطوى على حوارات جادة، لذا مثلت الجائزة األولى التواضع والوضوح وقدرة المنشأ على استيعاب في اشكالية تصميمية، تتطلب حلوال مبدعة ودائما جديدة ومبتكرة. وهي في سعيها للتغيير تختلف عن غيرها من الجوائز العالمية، إضافات العصر والزمن بما يمليه المجتمع الذي يتعامل مع هكذا لقد بذل المتسابقون جهداً كبيراً في التعاطي مع ثيمة المسابقة، وتختلف أيضا في أنساقها ومضامينها ولجان التحكيم فيها. لتتجاوز موقع، ووفق احتياجاته. مقترحين تصاميم مميزة سعت وراء بلوغ ادراك عال لقيمة الموضوعة األكاديميات في رفدها للمعرفة المتجددة في مجال العمارة والعمران. التصميمية في تلك المسابقة، مقدمين حلول مبتكرة لها، حازت على في حين تمحورت الجائزة الثانية حول فضاء مفتوح يشمل كامل تقدير اعضاء لجنة التحكيم. وقد تم دعوتي في العام 2018 ألكون محكما في أحد أنساقها، والتي الموقع، حيث وضعت كل الوظائف المنشطة للموقع في باطن األرض، وفي الختام، يتعين القول، بان تجربة تحكيم جائزة رفعة الجادرجي كرست السم المعمار رفعة الجادرجي، حيث ترأست جلسات التحكيم ممايتيح للزائر لحظة تأمل وتفكر بعراقة تاريخ بغداد، من خالل لعام 2018، كانت على جانب كبير من التنظيم وانطوت على مستوى فيها والتي عقدت في إنجلترا في جامعة كوفنتري، في قسم الدراسات انعكاس الجدار على سطح مائي منبسط بشكل سريالي. مهني عال. ونأمل أن تكون تجربة هذا العام حافزا لنشاطات تحكيمية البيئية والعمرانية في الجامعة. مماثلة في السنين القادمة. كما نأمل ان تنال جوائز تميز لإلبداع أما الجائزة الثالثة فكانت أشبه بتظاهرة لعمارة العصر، والتعامل مع المعماري ، وجائزة رفعة الجادرجي على وجه الخصوص، المكانة وقد تقدم لهذه الجائزة بأنسقاها المختلفة أكثر من 1000 مشارك من التقنية المعدنية والزجاجية على كامل مساحة الموقع دون المساس الرفيعة التى تستحقها في المشهد المعماري المهني المحلي والعربي جميع أنحاء العالم. باألثر التاريخي، مولدة في الداخل كتال زجاجية تحوي كل الوظائف على ِحد سواء، وأن تجد تلك الجوائز مكانة تليق بها كاحدى الجوائز وفيما يخص جائزة المعمار رفعة الجادرجي فقد كان عدد المشاركين المطلوبة، مع فراغات مفتوحة، توظف ألنشطة المجتمع. المعمارية المرموقة في البالد العربية. بين طالب وممارسين 300 مشترك من 50 دولة، وكان موضوع المسابقة شكرا تميز! وشكرا لمبادرتك المهنية الرائدة والمبدعة .. والمفيدة! إعادة إحياء موقع أثري، شيد في العهد العثماني كمقر للحاكم. والخالصة أن الرسالة التي حاول المحكمين أن يجتمعوا حولها، هي والشكر موصول الى مؤسسي الجائزة وداعميها! ويجدر اإلشارة إلى أن الدكتور خالد السلطاني الباحث والمعماري العراقي إعطاء المتلق من طالب وباحثين مجسات حول الكيفية التي يتناول المعروف، هو من جهز بنود المسابقة، باختيار موقع موضوع المسابقة، بها مفهوم إعمار موقع بعينه، إعمارا مسؤوال، يتفادى الشكالنية د. خالد السلطاني بحكم درايته التاريخية بمدينة بغداد. والنمطية التي قد يقع في هواها المحكمين. معمار وأكاديمي - لجنة تحكيم جائزة ّتميز هذا الموقع دمر أثناء الغزو األمريكي لبغداد، حيث تالشت أغلب معالمه، ما عدا واجهة المدخل الرئيسي المطل على أحد الشوارع د. راسم بدران التي تحيط بالموقع، وهو عبارة عن واجهة جدار يزخر بفنون بناء اآلجر معمار - لجنة تحكيم جائزة ّتميز العراقي التي اشتهرت به حضارة الرافدين.

تم اختيار أحسن عشرين مشروع للتصفية ما قبل النهائية، حيث عرضت على لجنة التحكيم، والتي اختارت منها عشرة مشاريع للمناقشة والتداول، وانتهى األمر باختيار ثالثة مشاريع أهلت للفوز بالجوائز

PUBLIC SPACE MULTI-FUNCITIONAL SPACE Concept The design was inspired by a personal experience of walking through palm trees farm in Baghdad, the astonishing experience takes you to a different dimension as you walk through heavily wooded space that offers silence from the busy city and meditation through its long trunks that towers over and reach the skies. Palm trees offers unique shadow and shelter from the blazing heat with spectacular patterns projected onto the ground. Main Façade The Design Center consists of two distinct volumes, organised on three floors each, separated by a court- yard patio and connected via bridges. The fond wing includes the Exhibition Space, the Design Centre, an Office for the Architectural Heritage of Baghdad and a Library. The front wing hosts the reception, the café and the Startup offices. The ground floor is left Side Façade B open and public in order to maintain the meeting character of the site. Both volumes are enveloped in a corten metal cladding, perforated with traditional patterns, functioning both as a second skin and filter as well as a visual landmark.
