He retired at the end of the 1982 school year after 17 years of service to St. Edward's . In receiving the Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award, Mangum is the second St. Edward's faculty member so honored. The first was Brother Simon Srffibner, C.S.C., Professor of English, in 1968. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR Laura Drake, with this production, makes her debut as a director on the Mary Moody Northen stage. She currently serves on the St. Edward's theatre arts fac ulty as an instructor in voice and diction and has held teaching positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Loyola University in New Orleans. She has served as director for the Shoestring Theatre at UT-Austin, as guest director for the Southern Speech Convention, and as Director/Choreo grapher with the resident acting company at the Univ~rsity of New Orleans and the Jewish Communi- ty Center in New Orleans. She was guest artist at the University of New Orleans and principal ac tress for the New Shakespeare Company in San Francisco, for the Oak land Actor's Reportory in Oakland, California; and Principal Artist and Writer for the Menagerie in San Francisco. Ms. Drake holds an MFA from the University of Texas and a BA from California State University in San Francisco. She has also studied at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and at the Jean Shelton Acting School in Berkeley, California. VIKING FENCE COMPANY, INC. CARRACCIO (Scenic/Technical Designer) served as assistant art director during the 1980-81 season of ABC Television shows, includ ing "Soap," "Benson," "I'm A Big Girl Now," and "It's A Living:' He has been involved in scene design for the New York Shakespeare Festival and the Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival. SUSAN LOUGHRAN (Costume Designer) is a native New Yorker now beginning her fourth year as a member of the St. Edward's theatre arts faculty. Ms. Loughran has worked in Regional, Off-Broadway and Dinner Theatres throughout the country. She recently designed the col orful costumes for "The Taming of the Shrew" and for the last spring production, "Equus:' HILLARY GARREETT (Assistant to the Director/Stage Manager) is a junior from Dresden , Tennessee . He appeared in "Chapter Two" with Marion Ross , in "Bells Are Ringing " with Grant Goodeve, and understu died Alan Fein stein in "St icks an d Bones :' Other shows have included "Our Town," and "The Pri me of Miss Jean Brodie:' He also served as as sistant stage manager for "Taming of the Shrew:' BRYAN BLUMENTHAL (George Haverstick) is a first year st udent at St. Ed_ward's from Lockport, Illinois . This is his debut on th e Mary Moody Northen stage. JUDY CUMMINGS (Mrs. McGillicuddy) is a senior acting major from Ashuelot, New Hampshire. She has appeared in "Bells Are Ringing" with Grant Goodeve, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie," "1968," "Music Man" and "Frogs:' MICHAEL GOEHRING (Mr. McGillicuddy) is a senior acting major from Nebraska. He has appeared in the St. Edward's productions, "J.B:'with Carol Bruce and Adam Wade, in "Music Man," "Our Town," "Bells Are Ringing" with Grant Goodeve and in the theatre workshop production "Willie the Shake ," and "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying:' DEBBIE HART (Susie) is a junior theatre major at Lamar University in Beaumont. Previous productions include "The Little Foxes," "Twists and Turns," "Wizard of Oz," and "Bedroom Farce:' She worked backstage for Lamar University productions of "The ShadowBox," "J.B.," and "Countenance:' CRAIG KANNE (Police Officer) is a sophomore theatre arts major. At St. Edward's he has worked backstage on "Equus" and "Butterflies Are Free:' He has appeared in "Our Town," "The Lady's Not For Burning," "Frogs," "Sticks and Bones," and "Arms and the Man:' LISA MARANTO (Dorothea J3ates) is a junior acting major from Law ton, Oklahoma . She has appeared in "Bells Are Ringing" with Grant Goodeve and "Taming of the Shrew" with Tim Matheson. ROB MUIR .(Ralph Bates) is a junior theatre arts major from Detroit, Michigan. He has appeared in the musical workshop, "H ow To Succeed in Business Without Really Try ing" an d was last seen in "Taming of the Shrew " with Tim Matheson.
