Aktuelle Pressemitteilung F60 Concept GmbH 05. 07. 2014, 20.00 Uhr, Besucherbergwerk F60 in Lichterfeld Ray Wilson, der charismatische Ex-Sänger der legendären Band GENESIS, präsentiert zum 20jährigen Bühnenjubiläum mit seiner Band die größten Hits der Bandgeschichte. Facettenreiche Songstrukturen aus der progressiven Rock - Ära der Band sowie die Pop - Hits der 70er bis 90er Jahre verschmelzen mit klassischen Streicher-Arrangements - eine neue Dimension von GENESIS, ohne dass die Songs ihren Originalcharakter verlieren. Garant dafür ist die einmalige Stimme von Ray Wilson, welcher allein mit dem letzten GENESIS - Album „Calling All Stations“ das drittbestverkaufte der Bandgeschichte eingesungen hat. Insgesamt verkaufte GENESIS über 150 Millionen Platten weltweit. Im März 2010 wurde GENESIS als wichtige und einflussreiche Band in die berühmte „Rock’n‘Roll Hall of Fame“ aufgenommen. Ray Wilsons internationale Musikkarriere begann 1994 mit der Grunge - Sensation STILTSKIN, als er die Charts mit dem Nummer-1-Hit “Inside” stürmte. Der Song lief jahrelang als weltweiter TV- Spot der Jeansfirma „Levi’s“. 1997 wurde der Schotte dann Mitglied der britischen Rocklegende GENESIS, wo er Phil Collins als Sänger ersetzte. Mit dem gemeinsam produzierten GENESIS - Album “Calling All Stations” ging es auf eine erfolgreiche Stadion-Tournee durch ganz Europa und Nordamerika. Nach der Auflösung von GENESIS spielte Ray Wilson in Deutschland u. a. mit Musikgrößen wie Marius Müller- Westernhagen und den „Turntablerockers“. Mit den „Scorpions“ und den Berliner Philharmonikern stand er gemeinsam zum Eröffnungskonzert der EXPO-Weltausstellung in Hannover auf der Bühne. 2003 veröffentlichte Ray Wilson sein erstes Solo-Album “Change” und stellte es während seiner Tournee - mit über 50 Shows allein in Deutschland - gemeinsam mit Joe Jackson und der Band SAGA vor. Ray Wilson gilt als sympathischer Ausnahmesänger und hat sich mit seiner charismatischen Bühnenpräsenz weltweit einen Namen als exzellenter Entertainer gemacht. Mit seinem neuen Projekt GENESIS Classic erfüllt sich der Schotte einen ganz persönlichen Traum: die erfolgreichsten Hits von GENESIS auf großer Bühne in Originalversion zu spielen, die klassischen Keyboard-Sequenzen werden ersetzt durch Streicher-Arrangements.     Ray Wilson u.a. zu „Time And Distance“ “20 Jahre nach Calling All Stations“ oder „Re-Boot nach dem Genesis-Ende“ Der ehemalige Genesis-Sänger Ray Wilson ist aktuell wieder auf Tour, mit einem neuen Live-Doppelalbum im Gepäck, aus dem Ausschnitte auch beim diesjährigen Night Of The Prog Festival auf der Loreley vorgestellt wurden. Es gilt, das 20jährige Jubiläum des letzten Genesis-Studioalbums „Calling All Stations“ zu feiern, auf dem Wilson bekanntlich als Nachfolger von Phil Collins agierte. Genug Gesprächsstoff also, und Ray Wilson stellte sich bereitwillig den Fragen und erwies sich als ausgesprochen angenehmer Gesprächspartner. Zunächst die unausweichlichen Fragen zu Genesis, beginnend damit, wie es eigentlich dazu kam. Als Phil Collins Genesis verließ, war ich mit meiner Band Stiltskin bei der gleichen Plattenfirma unter Vertrag. Genesis hatten damals bei Virgin nachgefragt, ob man dort Ideen für die Nachfolge hätte. Virgin hatte dann Genesis die Stiltskin- Musik geschickt. Die Band hörte sich das an und fand, dass die Stimme etwas hat und zu ihrer Neuausrichtung passen könnte. Ich wurde eingeladen und sang acht Songs ausCollins und Gabriels Phase vor. Dann haben wir uns zusammengesetzt und ein paar neue Songs ausprobiert. Ich brachte selbst dann ein paar Ideen ein, sowohl Musik als auch Texte betreffend. Und das war es auch schon – es waren gerade mal zwei Treffen mit einem Monat Abstand, und dann war es entschieden, ich hatte den Job. Wenn eine Band, die sehr stark auch mit dem Frontmann assoziiert wird, einen Nachfolger suchen muss – ist es besser einen Klon zu suchen oder neue Wege zu gehen? Wie lief das bei dir? Es mag natürlich sein, dass es für jemanden mit einer sehr Collins-ähnlichen Stimme einfacher gewesen wäre, aber es war wohl auch von Mike und Tony beabsichtigt, wieder etwas mehr in Richtung der früheren Gabriel-Zeiten zu klingen, deswegen habe ich wohl auch den Job bekommen.
