Delegates’ pages are personalized with their names, a photo, and defaulted content where they are able to begin accepting donations towards their program fees, immediately. As soon as a delegate registers online (www.ipesd.org/girlsforachange) and pay their registration fee, IPESD Admin will email a link to their individual fundraising page. • Accra City Tour. Our local guide will take us on a driving tour of Ghana’s capital including visits to major historical sites: Memorial Park, Independence Square, , and Jamestown. The day provides for a great opportunity to explore, learn history, and get to know some of the Districts that make up Accra. • The Center for National Culture & Arts Center. The cacophony of business interactions, get lost in the market and try your hand at bargaining for an authentic Ghanaian experience. • Lunch on own in East Legon. • African Batiking: Sustainable Production. Learn more about this ancient “resist” art process for making designs on fabric from start to finish. Create designs of your own coupled with Adinkra symbols. Adinkra symbols are traditional visual symbol that represent concepts or original thoughts such as: friendship, prosperity, health, or wealth. Choose your favorites for a unique gift. • Genesis to Revelation: A high-end fashion and bridal couture lesson. Quophi Akotuah Fashion Academy (QAFA) is a fashion school aimed at producing top-notch, world-class designers to enrich our (Black/African) world of fashion. Through creativity, skill, and unlimited imagination, QAFA boasts preparing the next generation of leadership in the fashion and design industries. Meet Michael Akotuah Addo, Quophi Akotuah Ghana Creative Director, who will take us through the entire design process and his experiences as one of the most sought after designers on the Continent at just 24 years of age. • Dinner at Buka Restaurant. • Travel to Assin Manso. • Last Bath. Assin Manso was the site of the largest slave market for merchants supplying slaves to the forts and castles on the coast. Tour this historic site, see the Slave Market, River, and Cemetery; and hear from our guide about this final link in the slavery route from Northern Ghana. • Village Life – Etsi Bosomodwe, village of Chief Odeneho Krobah Agyman Kagya. Take a short walking tour of the Chief’s village before participating in a variety of service projects including: classroom visits and activities with primary students, book donations and beautification to the village’s newly built library. • Travel to Cape Coast/Elmina. • Central Region Welcome. Evening dinner and traditional bamboo percussion performance hosted by Bismark Amoah and the local Kukyekukyeky Bamboo Orchestra.

(Re)naming ceremony where “soul names” will be received. • Born Again. Dinner, drumming, and dance alongside a roaring born fire, and the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

• Kumasi City Tour featuring the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi Fort and Military Museum, and the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum. • Continue to the Kumasi Centre for National Culture for tour and lunch. • State of an Art: Ntonso the Adinkra Village. Adinkra are visual symbols that represent concepts of aphorisms native to the Akan and Gyaman people. Learn all about adinkra symbols, their meanings, printing process, and other indigenous handicrafts. • Adanmowase Ecotourism Project. Led by master weavers, see first hand where and how the centuries old kente weaving tradition is done. Experience the entire value chain of kente from cotton bush to final piece of cloth, and try your hand at weaving on a double-heddle kente strip loom. • Free morning. • Junior Achievement: Activating Africa’s Youth for the Future of Jobs. Junior Achievement (JA) focuses on the economic empowerment of youth worldwide by bridging the gap between what students learn in school and what they need to be successful professionals as employees who add value to their employers or as entrepreneurs who create jobs for themselves and others. JA Africa focuses on three key areas: Entrepreneurship, Work Readiness, and Financial Literacy. Delegates will gain professional development as they engage with students at a JA Company Program site. • Closing lunch reception. • Departure. Transfer to airport for check-in and final departure late night to United States.
