Penulisan kata-kata dalam rangkaian kalimat dapat ditulis menurut penulisannya Ditulis dzawī al-furūḍ ذوى الفروض Ditulis ahl al-sunnah أهل الس ّنة vii ABSTRAK Badriyatul Azizah Al- Hayah Perspektif Tafsir Al-Jailani Penelitian dalam skripsi ini dilatar belakangi ketika peneliti melihat betapa manusia seringkali lalai akan fungsi dan tujuan hidupnya di dunia. Bahkan tidak sedikit yang tidak mengetahui untuk apa sebenarnya hidup mereka di dunia ini. Manusia banyak yang terperdaya oleh kehidupan duniawi yang malenakan seakan-akan mereka beranggapan untuk hidup di dunia ini selamanya sehingga melalaikan kehidupan akhirat, yang merupakan kehidupan yang sebenarnya dan kekal abadi. Manusia menginginkan kebahagiaan, akan tetapi, pada kenyataannya, kemewahan di dunia ini dan fasilitas teknologi modern yang bisa dimanfaatkan dan dimiliki manusia belum tentu memperoleh kebahagiaan yang diinginkannya. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk agar manusia itu tahu, apa makna dari kehidupan sesungguhya, apa manfaat kita hidup di dunia, beserta apa tujuan kita hidup di dunia ini menurut kitab tafsir al-jailani karya Syaikh Abdul Qodir Jailani. Hal ini menjadi penting, karena jarang sekali penulis menemukan para peneliti yang mengungkap kitab tafsir ini. Didalam kitab ini beliau menafsirkan ayat dengan kata perkata, jadi mudah untuk orang membacanya dan juga menggunakan tasawuf karena beliau memang ulama’ sufi. Dalam penelitian ini memfokuskan kepada ayat-ayat tentang hayah yang meliputi kehidupan dunia agar supaya kehidupan akhirat yang lebih baik didalam kitab Tafsir Al-Jailani, beserta fungsi kehidupan bagi manusia dan tujuan hidup bagi manusia didunia ini adalah mencari ridho ilahi dan menjadi rahmad bagi seluruh alam, bukan untuk bersenang-bersenang terhadapa yang kita miliki di dunia ini Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif, dengan menggunakan metode Library Research (kepustakaan). Langkah yang digunakan dalam menganalisa data ialah analisa data kualitatif, dengan mengumpulkan dan menampilkan data yang dibutuhkan dari berbagai sumber dan menghasilkan sebuah kesimpulan. Sumber primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah Tafsir Al-Jailani karya Syaikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani Sebagai pendukung dalam penelitian ini berbagai buku, tafsir serta artikel-artikel dalam jurnal pun disertakan.     Junayd Rehman TWIN HALVES OF MEN1: AN EXAMINATION OF THE MODERN APPLICATION OF KHULA DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS IN ACCORDANCE TO CLASSICAL ISLAMIC LAW THROUGHOUT THE MUSLIM-MAJORITY WORLD Introduction Simply put, marriage in Islamic Law is a contract.2 Unlike Western notions, be they influenced by various Christian Churches to think of the act of marriage as a holy sacrament, or by the post- Enlightenment secular state—still largely affected by the influence of the Church’s thinking of marriage as a sacrament—marriage in Islam is a contract between two parties, undertaken so they may fulfil their human inclinations and desires, of both procreation and intimacy, within the permissible boundaries of God’s law.3 The first part of this paper will give a brief overview of the concepts of marriage according to Islamic Classical law, and the history and reasonings surrounding its exercise. The second part of this paper will then delve into much of the same except revolving around divorce in multifaceted approaches in Islamic law, one of which is the khula, or the woman’s right to divorce her husband by forfeiting her mahr, which is typically a payment of money or other material possessions—ranging from anything to gold, a house, a vehicle, a parcel of land, furniture, etc.,— paid for by the groom to the bride at the time of their marriage, and is stipulated in the signed marriage contract between the bride and groom.4 The principal of khula will then be more thoroughly examined as an option of divorce in Islamic law, along with its benefits and drawbacks,

So, the present study, reviews the philosophy of the marriage in Islam and Christian, and then compares them. The main achievement of this study is that both of these religions believe that the only legitimate way to satisfy the sexual needs, make new generation and gaining love is the marriage. But there is a fundamental differences between these two religions. Monasticism and celibacy in the Christian has a special position. Christian considers the celibacy as the mean for being near to God, but in Islam the celibacy is completely rejected. Not only the marriage does not block the way to being near to the God, but also it can be the mean to reach the God. González, M.A. Thesis Chairperson: Paul Froese, Ph.D. In this paper I analyze Islamic Social Attitudes Survey (ISAS) data to see the effects of religious tradition and religious practice on attitudes about women’s rights among 1139 college students in Kuwait. Specifically, I test whether religious sect, religious school of thought, political identity, religious experience, religious salience, and religious practice have direct effects on women’s rights attitudes, while controlling for gender, in a majority-Muslim context. My findings show that gender, sect, religious school of thought, and political identity but not religious practice have persistent effects on attitudes about women’s rights. Introduction Following injunctions in the Qurān and much discussed in the sunna, the qibla, or sacred direction of Islam, is highly significant in daily Muslim life.3 Not only the five daily ritual prayers have to be per- formed towards the Kaba in Mecca, but also other religious duties such as the recitation of the Qurān, announcing the call to prayer, ritual slaughter of animals, and the burial of the dead. Therefore applied sex education since the age of early indispensable to prevent aberration sex and violence on children. The results of this study can provide a clear picture of the concept of sex education according to the rules of Allah and the Messenger of Allah. In the implementation process, it is expected that parents as the first and foremost educators in the family, then in the school environment teachers (including religious teachers, community leaders, and scholars) have a stake in strengthening information about Islamic law.
