SITREP # 1: 29 May at 12.00 PM local time (UCT+7)

HIGH LIGHTS

 On Thursday, 24 May 2012 at 07.00 AM Central Indonesian Time (UCT+6) , flood and landslide occured in 5 (Mekarsari, Telagasari, Prapatan, Gunung Guntur, and Damai), South Balikpapan sub-district, Balikpapan, province;  The water level reached 1.2 meter height.  As per 24 May 2012 at 21.00 PM Western Indonesian Time (UCT+7), Centre for Health Crisis (CHC), Ministry of Health (MoH) reported the death of 5 persons; major injury of 1 person, minor injury of 2 persons and 3 inundated health facilities;  In addition to the data from CHC MOH, National Disaster Management Agency/Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) reported 6 severe and 6 light house damaged;  Balikpapan DHO and BPBD has evacuated the victims;  Balikpapan DHO established health post in the disaster site, provided medical services in health post and Bhayangkara hospital and mobilized AGDT 118 ambulance to disaster site;  Balikpapan DHO, East Kalimantan PHO, Regional Center for Health Crisis and Center for Health Crisis MOH are monitoring the situation closely.

Situation Analysis

 Sanvu tropical cyclone affected the heavy rainfall in the eastern part of Indonesia i.e Northern part of , , , and and causing the flood in .  The most affected areas are 7 locations in Graha Indah residence, Kilometer 11th Km of Balikpapan- highway, Balikpapan Baru and DAM.

Response

Local Government  Balikpapan DHO and BPBD has evacuated the victims  Balikpapan DHO established health post in the disaster site, provided medical services in health post and Bhayangkara hospital and mobilized AGDT 118 ambulance to disaster site.
