March 28-30, 2013 IU Natatorium Swimmers Jared Anderson, Max Cartwright, Josh Hall, Logan Redondo, CJ Smith and Derek Indianapolis, Ind. Toomey, and divers Mikey Ross and Jordan Lesser, will represent the Gophers at the event co-hosted by the Indiana Sports Corporation and IUPUI. Daily Schedule Prelims: 10:00 a.m. CT Toomey will be making his third-straight appearance at the NCAA Championships as a six-time Finals: 6:00 p.m. CT All-American, and qualified to compete in both the 50 free and 100 free this season with his times of 19.11 and 42.60, respectively. Smith will also be making a return appearance to the NCAAs. The sophomore qualified for the Quick Facts event this season with his time of 14:54.21 in the 1650 free, after earning All-America honorable University Information mention honors in the same event a season ago. Assistant Coach: Ryan Purdy (Minnesota-Duluth, ‘05) Volunteer Swimming Coach: Stacy Busack The Natatorium opened in 1982 and has since been recognized as one of the fastest pools in Volunteer Diving Coach: Brandon Blaisdell the world. It has been host to numerous national swimming events including the three U.S. Opens, five Olympic Trials, ten Men’s and Women’s NCAA Championships and 11 Spring and Team Information Summer Nationals. 2012-13 Dual Record: 6-1 2013 Big Ten Championships: 4th place (378 points) The main competition pool is 50-meters with eight racing lanes and two moveable bulkheads 2012 NCAA Championships: 24th place (31 points) to allow for long or short course events. The final CSCAA poll of the 2012-2013 season for Division I Men predicts the outcome of the NCAA Championships. Texas holds the No. 1 spot followed by California, Michigan, USC and Florida in Order of Events the top five. At No. 14, the Gophers are the fourth Big Ten team after No. 3 Michigan, No. 8 Indiana and No. 13 Ohio State in the top rankings. The Big Ten’s Michigan and Ohio State share the lead with 11 national championships 50 Freestyle 400 Medley Relay each, while Texas has 10, most recently in 2010.     Swimming and Diving DIVISION I MEN’S Highlights California cruises to fi rst title in 31 years; Team clinches title by winning 400-yard freestyle relay: The California men’s swimming team, powered by titles by senior Nathan Adrian and a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay during the fi nal day of the meet, earned its third national championship by winning the 2011 NCAA Men’s Swim- ming and Diving Championships March 24-26 at Minnesota. The Golden Bears, led by fourth-year coach David Durden, won their fi rst NCAA team title in men’s swimming since capturing back-to-back titles under Nort Thornton in 1979-80. In a dramatic conclusion to its national title run, Cal’s 400 free relay team of senior Graeme Moore, senior Josh Daniels, sophomore Tom Shields and Adrian won the meet’s fi nal event with a time of 2:47.39 to give the Bears a 493 to 470½ point victory over Texas in the team standings. Stanford placed third in the meet with 403 points. Texas won two events, but couldn’t fully overcome a 63½ -point defi cit at the start of the fi nal day to win the team title. Earlier on the fi nal day, Adrian won his second title of the NCAA meet by capturing the 100-yard freestyle for the third straight year, recording a time of 41.10. He is the third Cal athlete to win the national title in the 100 free three years in a row, joining Olympic gold medalists Matt Biondi (1985-87) and Anthony Ervin (2000-02).

    ALL - CENTRAL ZONE TEAM The Central Zone of USA Swimming recognizes the following athletes from its LSCs as members of the inaugural All-Central Zone Team. To be eligible for this honor, an athlete must be nominated by the LSC which is generally considered the athlete’s “home” LSC and meet one of the following criteria: • Have set two or more individual Central Zone records in any age group • Have swum a Central Zone Championship time that was ranked #1 nationally for that season • Have been a Central Zone Championship meet participant who went on to qualify for one or more of these USA Swimming teams: Junior National Team, Senior National Team, or U.S. Olympic Team. LSCs that have no qualifiers based on the above criteria, the LSC may nominate one male and one female athlete to represent the LSC on the All-Central Zone Team.
