Created by the passion of conductor Gregory Stone in 1969, the Reno Phil is northern Nevada’s largest performing arts organization, performing an array of Children & furry friends symphonic and pops music for all tastes and ages. Celebrating its 52nd season, the orchestra, led by encouraged! Music Director Laura Jackson, is a part-time, per-service orchestra composed of over 60 professional musicians who perform more than 30 concerts annually across the region, including outdoor summer concerts in Reno and at Lake Tahoe. Jason Altieri is the current Associate Conductor for the Opera. This rare experience led to guest conducting Reno Philharmonic and Music Director of the Atlanta Pops engagements of Verdi’s La Traviata, Il Trovatore, and Orchestra in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to his work in Reno and Rigoletto in the Czech Republic. Cody Canon is a semi-professional performer and juggler who has been performing locally for the past 20 years. As a coach with Acro Enso, he teaches juggling as well as other circus arts, and has had students move on to become professional performers. Having performed on most of the stages in Reno, this will be his first time performing at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

Reno Phil Chorus Director Jennifer Tibben is Department Chair and Director of Choirs at Damonte Ranch High School, Washoe County School District’s Performing Arts Center signature program, directing four choirs and teaching AP Music Theory. As a conductor, Jennifer serves as the artistic director and conductor of Bella Voce women’s vocal ensemble. In addition, she conducts the adult choir at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Jennifer has sung opera roles with UNR Lyric Opera, as well as with Nevada Opera. She has also served as soloist with TOCCATA, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, Reno Baroque Ensemble and with the Reno Phil Orchestra. Jennifer is an active member of both the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. She lives in Reno with her delightful family, who, shockingly, are all out of the nest!
