Page 28 A Message from Secretary of State Kim Wyman Greetings, As I reflect on my first year in office, one of the programs I am very proud to oversee is the Washington State Combined Fund Drive. Throughout 2013, I witnessed countless examples of generosity by Washington State employees, and could not be more proud to be the co-chair alongside Governor Jay Inslee of a program that does so much good in our community. Last year, Washington’s state and higher education employees pledged over $5 million to local, national and global nonprofits through payroll contribution and agency fundraising events and we’re on par to do it again in 2014. Those precious dollars feed the hungry, provide medical care to seniors in need, help children learn to read and improve conditions for thousands locally and globally. On behalf of the staff of the Washington State Combined Fund Drive, and all those in need throughout our community, I thank you for working to make the world a better place. Sincerely, Kim Wyman Secretary of State Making a World of Difference Page 3 Our Mission Empowering Washington public employees and retirees to strengthen communities through the funding and support of charities. The Combined Fund Drive (CFD) is Washington State’s workplace giving program for active and retired public employees. State and higher education employees are invited to give to the charity of their choice through payroll contribution and agency fundraising events. For nearly 30 years, the Washington State Combined Fund Drive has set the standard of giving amongst similar workplace giving programs. With the help of our incredible volunteers, and the generous gifts from every participant, the CFD has helped strengthen our community through sustained contibutions. Each year, over 15,000 active and retired public employees pledge more than $5 million to 5,000 local, national and global charities. To date, Washington State employees have donated over $115 million to the charity members of the Combined Fund Drive. The CFD offers the security and convenience you expect when making a donation to your favorite charity. You can go online or fill out a paper contribution form to set up a monthly payroll deduction, write a check, or make a one-time pledge. The Combined Fund Drive is here to make your charitable donation experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Whatever your passion, the CFD has an avenue to support it. Together we can change the world, one pledge at a time. Page 4 Our Donors The Combined Fund Drive caters to thousands of donors across the entire landscape of Washington State.
