Two of them are already known on the basis of their thermal CO emission and two are visible as extensions in IRAS imaging data. By model fits to the new data sets, physical sizes, expansion timescales, dust temperatures, and more are deduced. A comparison with existing molecular CO material shows a high degree of correlation for TT Cyg and U Ant but a few distinct differences with other observables are also found. Harris* David Dunlap Observatory, Richmond Hill, Ontario Received 1974 September 16; revised 1975 June 18 ABSTRACT Radial-velocity observations and MK classifications have been used to study evolved stars in 25 open clusters. Published data on stars in 72 additional clusters are rediscussed and com- bined with the observations friade in this investigation to yield positions in the Hertzsprung- Russell diagram for 559 evolved stars in 97 clusters. Ages for the parent clusters were estimated from the main-sequence turnoff points, earliest spectral types, and bluest stars in the clusters themselves. The evolved stars were sorted into six age groups ranging from 4 x 106 yr to 4 x 108 yr, and the composite H-R diagram for each age group was then used to study the evolutionary tracks for stars of various masses. The observational results were found to be in reasonably good agreement with recent theoretical computations. The composite color-magnitude diagrams were found to be strikingly different from those of the rich open clusters in the Magellanic Clouds. At a given age the red giants in the Small Magellanic Cloud and the Large Magellanic Cloud clusters are brighter and bluer than their galactic counterparts. It is suggested that these effects may be accounted for by differences in metal abundance. The principal point of this program was a detailed scientific analysis of the orbital and surface experiments data derived from Apollo missions 15, 16, and 17. One of the requirements of this program was the production of detailed photo base maps at a useable scale. NASA in conjunction with the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) commenced a mapping program in early 1973 that would lead to the production of the necessary maps based on the need for certain areas. This paper is designed to present in outline form the neces- sary background informatiox or users to become familiar with the program. MAP FORMAT * The scale chosen for the project was 1:250,000 . The re- search being done required a scale that Principal Investigators (PI'S) using orbital photography could use, but would also serve PI'S doing surface photographic investigations. Each map sheet covers an area four degrees north/south by five degrees east/west.

Bidelman,1 Charles R. Cowley,2 and Donald G. Luttermoser3 Abstract. U Antliae is one of the brightest carbon stars in the southern sky. It is classified as an N0 carbon star and an Lb irregular variable. This star has a very unique spectrum and is thought to be in a transition stage from an asymptotic giant branch star to a planetary nebula. This paper discusses possi- ble atomic and molecular line identifications for features seen in high-dispersion spectra of this star at wavelengths from 4975 A˚ through 8780 A.˚ 1. Introduction U Antliae (U Ant = HR 4153 = HD 91793) is classified as an N0 carbon star with a visual magnitude of 5.38 and B−V of +2.88 (Hoffleit 1982). It also is classified as an Lb irregular variable with small scale light variations. Scattered light optical images for U Ant have been made and these observations are consistent the existence of a geometrically thin (∼3 arcsec) spherically symmetric shell of radius ∼43 arcsec. The size of this shell agrees very well with that of the detached shell seen in CO radio line emission. These observations also show the presence of at least one, possibly two, shells inside the 43 arcsec shell (Gonz´alez Delgado et al. 2001). In this paper, absorption lines in the optical spectrum of U Ant are tentatively identified for this bright cool carbon star.

    On the Iron content of NGC 1978 in the LMC: a metal rich, chemically homogeneous cluster1 Francesco R. Ferraro2, Alessio Mucciarelli2, Eugenio Carretta 3, Livia Origlia3 ABSTRACT We present a detailed abundance analysis of giant stars in NGC 1978, a mas- sive, intermediate-age stellar cluster in the Large Magellanic Cloud, characterized by a high ellipticity and suspected to have a metallicity spread. We analyzed 11 giants, all cluster members, by using high resolution spectra acquired with the UVES/FLAMES spectrograph at the ESO-Very Large Telescope. We find an iron content of [Fe/H]=-0.38 dex with very low σ[Fe/H] = 0.07 dex dispersion, and a mean heliocentric radial velocity vr = 293.1 ± 0.9 km/s and a velocity dispersion σvr = 3.1 km/s, thus excluding the presence of a significant metallicity, as well as velocity, spread within the cluster. Introduction The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is the nearest galaxy of the Local Group with a very populous system of Globular Clusters (GCs) that cover a wide range of metallicity and age. arXiv:astro-ph/0605646v1 25 May 2006 At least three main populations can be distinguished, namely an old population, coeval with the Galactic GC system, an intermediate population (1-3 Gyr) and a young one (< 1Gyr).     Summary of Sexual Abuse Claims in Chapter 11 Cases of Boy Scouts of America There are approximately 101,135sexual abuse claims filed. Of those claims, the Tort Claimants’ Committee estimates that there are approximately 83,807 unique claims if the amended and superseded and multiple claims filed on account of the same survivor are removed. The summary of sexual abuse claims below uses the set of 83,807 of claim for purposes of claims summary below.1 The Tort Claimants’ Committee has broken down the sexual abuse claims in various categories for the purpose of disclosing where and when the sexual abuse claims arose and the identity of certain of the parties that are implicated in the alleged sexual abuse. Attached hereto as Exhibit 1 is a chart that shows the sexual abuse claims broken down by the year in which they first arose. Please note that there approximately 10,500 claims did not provide a date for when the sexual abuse occurred. As a result, those claims have not been assigned a year in which the abuse first arose. Attached hereto as Exhibit 2 is a chart that shows the claims broken down by the state or jurisdiction in which they arose. Please note there are approximately 7,186 claims that did not provide a location of abuse. Those claims are reflected by YY or ZZ in the codes used to identify the applicable state or jurisdiction. Those claims have not been assigned a state or other jurisdiction. Attached hereto as Exhibit 3 is a chart that shows the claims broken down by the Local Council implicated in the sexual abuse.

The Court of Claims has exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine the following matters: (a) all claims against the State of Illinois founded upon any law of the State, or upon any regulation thereunder by an executive or administrative officer or agency, other than claims arising under the Workers’ Compensation Act or the Workers’ Occupational Diseases Act, or claims for certain expenses in civil litigation, (b) all claims against the State founded upon any contract entered into with the State, (c) all claims against the State for time unjustly served in prisons of this State where the persons imprisoned shall receive a pardon from the Governor stating that such pardon is issued on the grounds of innocence of the crime for which they were imprisoned, (d) all claims against the State in cases sounding in tort, (e) all claims for recoupment made by the State against any Claimant, (f) certain claims to compel replacement of a lost or destroyed State warrant, (g) certain claims based on torts by escaped inmates of State institutions, (h) certain representation and indemnification cases, (i) all claims pursuant to the Law Enforcement Officers, Civil Defense Workers, Civil Air Patrol Members, Paramedics, Firemen & State Employees Compensation Act, (j) all claims pursuant to the Illinois National Guardsman’s Compensation Act, and (k) all claims pursuant to the Crime Victims Compen- sation Act.
