Veteran of the month Sergeant Rob Yonick joined the Canadian Forces February 23, 1982 and graduated from RCR Battle School as an infantryman September 9 that same year. Serving over- seas in 1984 on a UN mission, he was severely injured, which resulted in a medical release. After receiving medical clearance, he re-enrolled again as an infantry- man December 1, 1987. In August 1990, he completed finance training and went on to complete two more UN missions and a deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan. He continues his military service with 413 Transport and Rescue Squadron, 14 Wing Greenwood. Yonick has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since March 1986, and Kingston Branch #098 is proud to have him recognized as veteran of the month. L.Coldwell theAurora It’s that time of year! INVENTORY CLEAROUT! Party in the village SALE BEGINS Kingston families rang in the new year December 31 with their annual party at the village rink. With skating, JANUARY 15th, 2014! lots of food, wagon rides and fireworks to cap off the evening, 2013 went out in style! M.Rolph Dear Customers & Friends, I have Owned/Operated Tickled Pink Gifts & Gourmet for three years. Being a military wife, I knew this would not be a permanent job, but rather a rewarding experience. My husband Rob serves in the RCAF and we were posted to Greenwood in 2009 for a 3-5 year term. When we first moved here I struggled to find work, so as you can imagine, I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to open my own business. I have been completely dedicated to the endeavour ever since. As 2014 will mark our fifth year in Greenwood, the time has Music, provided by Hi-Lites Entertainment, was enjoyed Popcorn is always a great come to close the doors to Tickled Pink to prepare for a transfer. by a packed house from start to finish. treat. Being a young entrepreneur, I have much to be proud of. Tickled Pink has become Nova Scotia’s destination for Crocs, as well as a prime location for Fashion, Accessories, Giftware, Garden Décor and Gourmet Foods. I have discovered the type of job I truly enjoy and gained experience that will enable me to thrive in numerous work set- tings. I would like to thank everyone who has supported my store over the past three years. As customers are delighted everyday by our great products and service, I know I have achieved my ultimate goal. Over the coming months, watch for our fantastic inventory clear-out sales and for an announcement on an official closing date. Valerie, from Melvern Square, with Elmer the Safety Elephant.
