INTRODUCTION This report describes about the results of material sources investigation for the NR 13 North Road Improvement and Maintenance Project . Along the National Road Number 13 North from Sikeuth junction (Vientiane capital) to Phonhong district, Vientian Provinces. (See location map of material sources in Figure 1, 1.1 and 1.2). The objective of this investigation is finding sources of feasible material for project of National Road Number 13 North improvement and maintenance Project (Sikeuth Junction to Phonhong District). The Material Sources Investigation was conducted by geological investigation team of Lao Transport Engineering Consultant (LTEC). 2. WORKS PROCEDURES 1) To find discover of material sources in the project area or nearest location. 2) Collect sample of material to laboratory and do the test analysis of material properties. 3) Collect in formation about material sources. 4) Report preparation about field investigation and test results. The following location of material sources have been investigated: Borrow pit (BP01) material sample have been taken from the km 1+500 Left hand side 4,000 meters (Sikeuth village) on Road Number 13 north section from Sikeuth junction to Phonhong district. (See location map of material sources in Figure 1.1). Borrow pit (BP02) material sample have been taken from the km 10+300 Left hand side 4,000 meters( Nayan village) on Road Number 13 north section from Sikeuth junction to Phonhong District. (See location map of material sources in Figure 1.1). Borrow pit (BP03) material sample have been taken from the km 10+300 Left hand side 3,280 meters ( Nayan village) on Road Number 13 north section from Sikeuth junction to Phonhong District. (See location map of material sources in Figure 1.1). Borrow pit (BP04) material sample have been taken from the km 14+050 Left hand side 4,000 meters( Ilai tai village) on Road Number 13 north section from Sikeuth junction to Phonhong District.
