ROUTES AND SCHEDULES – TO AND FROM USHUAIA, ARGENTINA No flights are included in the tour, however Ana can arrange them for you.

General Flight Information Arrival: Everyone must arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina (USH) by the evening of October 18 for an overnight (included) prior to boarding the Khlebnikov on October 19. For most people in the US, this means departing home on October 17. If you miss boarding the ship, you will miss the whole voyage, so consider arriving in Ushuaia a day earlier for a cushion (departing October 16). We are organizing day-trip options for those who wish to join us in Ushuaia earlier (see Pre-voyage Day Tour section below). See the Transfers section for information about transfers to the hotel.

Departure: The ship arrives back in Ushuaia (USH) on the morning of October 31. We require that you book your flight from Ushuaia after 12:00pm on October 31 to allow for possible delays with customs before/after disembarking the ship.

International Flights to and from Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE/AEP) Travel to Ushuaia is most efficient through Buenos Aires, Argentina. Buenos Aires has two airports, collectively coded BUE. The international airport, “Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini,” airport code EZE, is where your international flights will arrive and depart. The domestic airport, “Aeroparque Jorge Newbery,” airport code AEP, has more flight choices to/from Ushuaia, however if you can book a flight directly from EZE to USH and back, you avoid the need to transfer between airports (which can take 1.5hrs, depending on traffic). Many airline options are available between Buenos Aires (EZE) and the US/other destinations.

Flights from Ushuaia (USH) to Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE/AEP) Even if booking a USH-EZE flight, it is wise to allow about four hours between flights in Buenos Aires to guard against delays, schedule changes, or the possibility of being rerouted to AEP. See the Transfers section for information about transfers to the airport.

LODGING IN USHUAIA AND BUENOS AIRES Lodging in Ushuaia An overnight on October 18 in Ushuaia is included in your tour cost, however we can book any extra nights.

Lodging in Buenos Aires Overnights in Buenos Aires are not included in your tour cost, however we can make recommendations for your stay in Buenos Aires.

Cheesemans’ Ecology Safaris Page 2 of 4 Travel Information Updated: January 2018 If spending extra time in Buenos Aires, you’ll likely want to stay in the , closer to AEP (EZE is outside of the city proper so there’s less to do in that area). If you just need a quick overnight between flights, you’ll likely want to stay closer to EZE. If you’re booking flights with Ana, she is happy to book any overnights in Buenos Aires that you may need, or you can book on your own.

Shared and single lodging If you are traveling alone and would like to share a room for an extra night, please let us know and we will try to find you a roommate. We cannot guarantee we will find one, as it depends on the number and configuration of participants needing extra nights. Let us know if you prefer to have a single room for any extra nights or for your included night, but they are subject to availability and additional charge.

TRANSFERS Transfers in Ushuaia Transfers in Ushuaia are included on October 18, 19, and 31. Upon arrival on October 18, an agent will meet you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel. On October 19, embarkation day, a group shuttle will transfer you from the hotel to the ship. On October 31, disembarkation day, depending on the timing of your flight, you will transfer directly to the airport or into town for a few hours. If you’re overnighting in Ushuaia, you will be transferred to your hotel; when you need to depart for the airport, you can easily arrange your own taxi (about $10–$30 depending on your hotel location).

Transfers between airports in Buenos Aires (not included in tour cost) Buenos Aires has two airports, the international Aeropuerto Ezeiza (EZE) where most international flights arrive, and the domestic airport Aeroparque (AEP) located beside the Rio de in downtown Buenos Aires. Most flights from Ushuaia arrive in AEP, so most of you will have to transfer between the two airports. However, if you can book a flight directly from USH to EZE, you avoid the transfer between airports. Allow about 1.5hrs, depending on traffic, for the drive between airports, and be sure to arrange and pay for your transfer via bus or private taxi inside the airport with Manuel Tienda Leon (look for the yellow lion logo) or one of the other equivalent transfer services, instead of a taxi at the airport curb. The cost is approximately $35 to $55 (per person) for a private transfer by car, about $30 (per person) by bus if Manuel Tienda Leon has a bus leaving on a schedule that works for you, or about $65 (per taxi) by taxi arranged inside the airport (all are payable in US dollars or by credit card).

PRE-VOYAGE DAY TOUR OUT OF USHUAIA (OPTIONAL) We are offering two pre-voyage, full-day trips out of Ushuaia. These day trips are perfect if you are arriving in Ushuaia early. Space is limited, so contact us early if you’d like to sign up for either of these trips.
