Ryan Cabrera Take It All Away Album Download Take It All Away ryan cabrera take it all away album download Take It All Away. Golden-spiked pop/rock boy-child Ryan Cabrera is consumed by teenage heartbreak. As the protagonist for nearly every song on his (better than it should be) major-label debut, Take It All Away, he pines for loves both past and present like a deer on the highway faced with the field, the median, or the truck. For the most part it's the latter that the young "heart-rocker" chooses to get into it with, but the singer/songwriter/guitarist and his golden-tipped man-child/producer -- Johnny Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls -- have concocted such a lively musical landscape for their "dear diary" lyrics that it's almost impossible not to smile amid the frank -- albeit clichéd -- emotional wreckage. From the opening "Mr. Blue Sky"-style piano rocker "Let's Take Our Time" to the falsetto-rich tenderness of "True," Cabrera proves himself to be more than just another pretty face with a lot of industry money behind him. He's got a great voice, a knack for incorporating Beatlesque key changes into otherwise mediocre melodies, and a healthy, irony-free take on angst that will earn him a raging sea of young women to wade through. Rzeznik fills each track with a combination of modern Pro Tools wizardry and good old-fashioned guitar playing -- ornate finger-picked acoustics appear randomly throughout -- and it's a testament to his industry tenacity that each one sounds like a potential hit. Take It All Away is as disposable as the pop genre itself, and Cabrera is the perfect proxy, but if he can ride out the fleeting fame and fortune that goes hand in hand with a big-money/radio-ready industry record, he might just have what it takes to build a career on his own terms. A wave of excitement is surrounding E.V.L.A./Atlantic recording artist Ryan Cabrera as he gets ready for tomorrow's release of his label debut, "TAKE IT ALL AWAY." The album features the soaring first single, "On The Way Down," which is rapidly shaping up as one of the summer's hottest pop hits. The song has bulleted into the top 20 at CHR/Pop radio outlets nationwide. At the same time, the song's companion video is a "Buzzworthy" clip on MTV, where it has been ranking in the top ten on TRL. Ryan will celebrate the album's release tomorrow with a packed slate of activities in New York City, including: an 8:30 a.m. appearance on Z100's "Z Morning Zoo"; a special lunchtime contest-winners release party at Planet Hollywood, sponsored by Z100 and Samsung; an afternoon in-store album signing at the FYE store at 51st Street & 6th Avenue; visits to MTV's TRL and the Fuse's Daily Download; and capping off with an album release party tomorrow night sponsored by Samsung and Teen People. In other Cabrera news, he is set to perform "On The Way Down" live on ABC-TV's Good Morning America on Monday, September 6th. He has also gained national television exposure in recent weeks for his role on MTV's reality series, The Ashlee Simpson Show. The 22-year-old Dallas native is currently drawing unprecedented crowds and bona fide fan hysteria on the Simon DTour Live, a coast-to-coast tour of Simon Malls across America. Cabrera has been gigging relentlessly all year, earning critical acclaim for his supporting appearances with Jessica Simpson and labelmate Jewel (including a sold-out performance at New York City's illustrious Carnegie Hall). He has also played a range of club and college shows, as well as making several appearances as part of Seventeen magazine's Spring Trend Tour. In the online world, Cabrera has been selected as Launch/Yahoo! Music's September Emerging Artist of the Month, featuring an exclusive in- studio performance and interview. He performed a set for Sessions@AOL, which will go up live this week. As Ryan's popularity explodes, his online street team has been growing by an average of 1,000 new signups each week. Cabrera has been hailed as one of today's most compelling young artists. "TAKE IT ALL AWAY" sees Ryan teaming up with the Goo Goo Dolls' John Rzeznik, who co-produced the set with Cabrera and inspired him to fully blossom as both a songwriter and performer. In addition to Rzeznik, Ryan joined forces with a variety of today's best tunesmiths, including Sabelle Breer & Curt Frasca (Avril Lavigne, Stacy Orrico), Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue), and Jimmy Harry (Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson) & Kara Dioguardi (Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias). Driven by infectious and emotional songs such as "True" and "Exit To Exit," "TAKE IT ALL AWAY" marks the arrival of a truly gifted musician and performer. In the mid-2000s there was a slew of young musicians climbing their way to the top of the music charts. Some were studio-created products, but others were serious musicians who penned their own songs, played their own instruments, and helped produce their own albums. In the latter category, one young man in particular emerged from the pack in 2005 and was on the verge of hitting it big in the industry. Ryan Cabrera, the personable singer-songwriter known for his halo of spiky, bleached-blonde hair, released his debut album in late 2004 and then hit the road on a whirlwind concert tour. Along the way he connected with fans who responded by snatching up his CD and firmly entrenching it on Billboard's Top 100. Ryan Frank Cabrera was born on July 18, 1982, in Dallas, Texas. Guitarist, songwriter, and Texas native Cabrera never planned on a career in music. His hobby turned into a passion after hearing Dave Matthews, causing him to turn his back on the noisy punk rock of his high-school band, Caine, and pick up an acoustic guitar for the newly minted Rubic's Groove. The group found popularity in the Dallas area, sharing stages with Cheap Trick, Ben Harper, and Third Eye Blind, before Cabrera's departure. Making the most of a block of studio time -- a birthday present from his brother -- the high-school dropout cut three original songs that impressed the engineer enough to offer the opportunity to do a full-length -- for free. Elm Street was a self-released success, selling out locally and garnering favorable reviews and a deluge of Internet orders. In 2001, Cabrera signed to Atlantic, which scheduled the long-player Take It All Away for release in 2004. Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls) was the co-producer on Take It All Away. You Stand Watching arrived in 2005, followed by The Moon Under Water in 2008. He is currently in the studio working on his fourth record. T h e . S e c r e t . V a u l t. Once Ryan Cabrera felt he was ready for the next step in his career, he hooked up with Joe Simpson, father of Jessica and Ashlee, as his manager. He was soon after signed to Atlantic Records, and after touring with folk-songstress Jewel, and pop icon Jessica Simpson, he released his major label debut: “Take It All Away.” The charismatic singer-songwriter shines on this album, filled with sparkling melodies, vibrant instrumentation, and breezy vocals. 1. PERFORMED IDENTITIES: HEAVY METAL MUSICIANS BETWEEN 1984 AND 1991 Bradley C. Klypchak A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY May 2007 Committee: Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown, Advisor Dr. John Makay Graduate Faculty Representative Dr. Ron E. Shields Dr. Don McQuarie © 2007 Bradley C. Klypchak All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Dr. Jeffrey A. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

Antimodernism and Genre from Country-Rock to Alt.Country, 1968-98 Jason Bianchi Kirby San Jose, California B.A. Sociology and Literature, University of California—Santa Cruz, 2002 M.A. American Culture Studies, Bowling Green State University, 2006 A dissertation presented to the Graduate Faculty of the University of Virginia in Candidacy for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Department of Music University of Virginia August 2016 Abstract This dissertation is a cultural history exploring expressions of and responses to antimodernism within country-rock and “alternative country” music, drawing on reception history, intellectual history of underground and mainstream left-wing American political movements, interview discourse with artists, and close readings of songs. In this dissertation I argue that despite styling itself as a type of purer root or “folk” form of contemporary country music, in terms of its ideologies, studio production techniques, fan and critical discourse, and business practices, alt.country is a type of rock music. It embodies some of rock’s core beliefs, particularly rock’s critique of the more bureaucratic and “rationalized” dimensions of postindustrial capitalism, particularly as this relates to the everyday impact of new technologies. I argue that this anti-modernism, emerging here from the American political left, has been different in different eras, from the back-to-the-land movement of the late 1960s, to late- ‘80s/early-‘90s expressions of left populist punk’s longing for “folk” community. In this project I look beyond contemporary scholarly understandings of alt.country as mostly ironic, as ultimately I suggest that this music illustrates what Keir Keightley calls rock’s aesthetic of “seriousness,” more precisely than it does an understanding of country music ideology.
