Nuzhath Khanam, ENACT Angela Singh Bedi, Project uP Mainstreaming Gender in Climate Change Action: A Nuanced Approach Varishtha Singh, ENACT Unmuktman Singh, Project uP Youth Procrastination and Climate Change Muskaan Aggarwal, ENACT Anagha V. Nair, ProjectuP Abstract The climate has been undergoing a rapid change for the worse, for the past several decades. India, particularly in the last few years, has seen deadly examples of floods, heatwaves, extreme rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, forest fires, cyclones, etc., to name a few results of increasing global warming and the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which are giving rise to climate change. While some actions are being taken to tackle the problem, it has been noticed that the majority of the human population has been finding reasons to avoid engaging in any work or activity related to climate change. So why is this the case, and why this habit of procrastinating can have deadlier consequences for the human population? This paper aims to analyse how the habit of procrastination in human beings can be related to climate change. The fact that people have been putting off acting on climate change has often been cited as the main reason for the situation of the climate today. Therefore, this paper aims to analyse human thinking behind procrastination and describe how the relationship between youth, procrastination and climate change might not always be intentional.
