  • Japanese Manufacturing Affiliates in Europe and Turkey
06-ORD 70H-002AA 7 Japanese Manufacturing Affiliates in Europe and Turkey - 2005 Survey - September 2006 Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Preface The survey on “Japanese manufacturing affiliates in Europe and Turkey” has been conducted 22 times since the first survey in 1983*. The latest survey, carried out from January 2006 to February 2006 targeting 16 countries in Western Europe, 8 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and Turkey, focused on business trends and future prospects in each country, procurement of materials, production, sales, and management problems, effects of EU environmental regulations, etc. The survey revealed that as of the end of 2005 there were a total of 1,008 Japanese manufacturing affiliates operating in the surveyed region --- 818 in Western Europe, 174 in Central and Eastern Europe, and 16 in Turkey. Of this total, 291 affiliates --- 284 in Western Europe, 6 in Central and Eastern Europe, and 1 in Turkey --- also operate R & D or design centers. Also, the number of Japanese affiliates who operate only R & D or design centers in the surveyed region (no manufacturing operations) totaled 129 affiliates --- 125 in Western Europe and 4 in Central and Eastern Europe. In this survey we put emphasis on the effects of EU environmental regulations on Japanese manufacturing affiliates. We would like to express our great appreciation to the affiliates concerned for their kind cooperation, which have enabled us over the years to constantly improve the survey and report on the results. We hope that the affiliates and those who are interested in business development in Europe and/or Turkey will find this report useful.

Cayce BRADLEY STUBBLEFIELD; KRISTAN STUBBLEFIELD, Clerk Plaintiffs—Appellants v. SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION, a foreign corporation; NISSIN KOGYO COMPANY, LTD, a limited liability company, Defendants—Appellees consolidated with ______________ No. 19-60812 ______________ BRADLEY STUBBLEFIELD; KRISTAN STUBBLEFIELD, Plaintiffs—Appellants v. SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION, a foreign corporation, Defendant—Appellee Appeals from the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi USDC No. 3:15-CV-18 Case: 18-60896 Document: 00515545111 Page: 2 Date Filed: 08/28/2020 No. 18-60896 c/w No. 19-60812 Before HIGGINBOTHAM, STEWART, and ENGELHARDT, Circuit Judges. PER CURIAM:* Having suffered an adverse jury verdict in this products liability personal injury lawsuit, Plaintiffs—Appellants Bradley and Kristan Stubblefield (hereinafter, “the Stubblefields”) appeal a number of rulings regarding evidence admissibility, juror selection, and personal jurisdiction. The Stubblefields also appeal the district court’s post-judgment award of $38,543.64 in costs to Defendant-Appellee Suzuki Motor Corporation (“Suzuki”). Finding no reversible error, we AFFIRM. I. This products liability action arises from a motorcycle accident that occurred on January 12, 2012, in Canton, Mississippi. Specifically, Plaintiff— Appellant Bradley Stubblefield (“Brad”) alleges that, while riding his 2006 Suzuki GSX R1000 motorcycle to work, as he typically did, the bike’s front braking system suddenly and unexpectedly failed, causing him to be unable to stop. After crossing over a 132-foot concrete gore1 and another lane of traffic, the motorcycle plunged down a grassy embankment, crashing into the ravine below.

November 1993 Doc: IEEE P802.11-93/219 IEEE 802.11 Wireless Access Method and Physical Specification Title: Comparative Study of Commercial LEDs and PINs for Wireless LANs Presented by: Manuel J. Betancor, Victor M. Melian and Rafael Perez-Jimenez University of Las Palmas E.T.S.L Telecomunicaci6n Campus Universitario de Tafira 35017 - LAS PALMAS. SPAIN Tel: +3428 451272 Fax: +34 28 451243 Email: [email protected] [email protected] Abstract: This paper presents the available devices (LEDS and PINS) from several manufacurers. The study has been made with a database from 40 manufactures and it include 660 light emitting diodes (LEDS), 439 pin-photodiodes (pIN) and 165 laser diodes (LD). This database will be presented in the next meeting. The most useful LEDs for wireless LANs are few. Only four manufacturers present LEDS with rise and fall times less than IOns and radiant power greater than 10 mW. Large and fast photodiodes (active area greater 2 than 100 mm ) are manufacured only by two. Introduction This paper presents the avalaible optolectronic components in the market and some statistics for them. This work has been made using commercial databooks from several manufacturers. We designed a database for IREDs, PINs and LOs. The database was called COMP1. This program manages the infonnation from databooks. For example, if rise time is not in databook this field in database is O. We used databooks from 40 diferent manufacturers and worked with 660 IREDs, 439 PINs and 165 LOs. Table 1 presents the manufacturers used and the number of IREDs, PINs and LDs from each in COMP!.
