Roru

Whenever I hear this song, I think of the Rolling Stones' "Sticky Fingers" album. It's funny to hear Lynyrd Skynyrd, a southern american band, copy the whole sound of the english Rolling Stones. I submit that the true creators of 'southern rock' may well be Mick and Keef from southern Manchester!Would I rather hear "Brown Sugar" or "Bitch" than "What's Your Name"? Of course. And if you've got Sinatra, you don't really need to hear Tony Bennett.Seriously, the Stones from the get go understood white trash country music. Their country is more genuine than the Beatles'. From an early rock version of Hank Snow's "I'm Movin' On" to "High and Dry" to "Dear Doctor" to Richard's sublime "You Got the Silver"."Just My Imagination" is a true gem from the Stones, transforming a soul classic into a country rock classic. So anyway, everytime I hear this I think of the Stones. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
