Chinese enterprises have stepped up their "going out" initiative in recent years, especially in energy and infrastructure sectors, which paves the way for equipment exports. However, financing, as the lifeblood of the going-out initiative, has become the major challenges for Chinese firms as 's local banking and capital market are poorly equipped to meet the tough demands of overseas project financing. Meanwhile, recent examples of failed overseas projects involving Chinese companies have also exposed increasing risks and potential losses behind these high-profile overseas project cases.
