Oktober 2019 Building: The schoolhouse measures about 125 by 100 m. The classrooms are located on 5 floors. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors are classrooms, laboratories of the electrical and IT department and the technical qualification rooms of the nutrition department. The workshops for metal technology, carpenters and painters are housed on the ground floor and in the basement. The carpentry workshops are situated in an neighboring building. Furthermore, on the ground floor the administration is located as well as the canteen with cafeteria and the break-hall. Oktober 2019 Konditor Restaurantfachmann (nutrition baker Professional in the hospitality industry / Retailer in food industry - bakery / pastry shop / Hotel manager / cook / Confectioner) Pupils: In the school year 2019/20 2265 pupils in 106 classes are being schooled at the vocational school. Teachers: A total of 84 teachers teach at the school, 69 of whom are full- time and 15 part-time or seconded from other schools. There are 4 secretaries in the administration and 2 caretakers at the school for the maintenance of the building. Schooling: Students are taught in some classes full-time but typically part- time. Part-time means one-day or two days tuition a week, or block tuition of 9, 12, 14 or 15 block weeks per school year. The apprentices spend the rest of their (work)time of their vocational training at their companies. Oktober 2019 Catchment area (Sprengel): Our students live in the district of Traunstein, Berchtesgadener Land, Altötting, Mühldorf and Rosenheim, as well as Ebersberg and Miesbach. In a training occupation (plant mechanic) we train students from the entire administrative districts of Upper Bavaria and Swabia. Subjects: In all training occupations, subject-specific instruction is given in the classroom and in the workshop or in specialist rooms. This includes theoretical, computational and planning content, training in C techniques and practical implementation on the workpiece or product. Likewise, all students are taught German, religion or ethics and social studies. Physical education is given in the block and full-time classes. Duration of apprenticeship: Depending on the occupation, the duration of the training is 2, 3 or 3½ years. The final exam is taken by the Chamber of Crafts or the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Early admission to the examination or a shortening of the training period is possible. In conjunction with the completed vocational training, the qualification in the German and European qualifications framework is assigned to level 4. In addition, the acquisition of a middle school degree in combination with English as a foreign language is possible. Getting to know a European country, especially in Scandinavia Understand the culture of the country Insight into the education system Mutual understanding Experience what effects e.g. climatic changes have in other countries What can we learn from this country and adapt at our school? What is the vocational education / training in this country? How do the young people of another country live and experience Europe or Germany? A longer lasting partnership II. How do you foresee the development of your international projects the next two years? (Wie sehen Sie die Entwicklung Ihrer internationalen Projekte in den nächsten zwei Jahren?) After choosing a partner school, an annual meeting in each country should be established, which certainly helps getting to know each other and, on the other hand, develop a joint project, which is then carried out with the students at the two school locations. Possibly a project which is typical for one country should be chosen, e.g. in the field of timber construction in conjunction with electrical engineering and perhaps sports (biathlon) Also, a longer-lasting student exchange with appropriate internship / work placement and teaching projects would be conceivable. A long-term friendship between two vocational schools or two regions, especially the exchange students. One important experience that is worth sharing (Eine wichtige Erfahrung, die es wert ist, geteilt zu werden) The major problems of our time (e.g. climate change, energy needs, water scarcity, terrorism, etc.) are not national but global problems that can only be tackled through mutual understanding and working, developing and living together.
