Currently, there are four bulletins with four different companies. After a process of selection, we have chosen Liturgical Publications Inc. as the company that will publish our new bulletin. This new single bulletin that will go to all four parishes should be in place sometime later this summer (after a few more details are worked out). Having a single bulletin for our entire parish grouping promises to be a great benefit to all of us in having better communication with one another and more information in one place readily available to all. Thank you to our CCD volunteers. They are special not only because they have a deep commitment to sharing their faith but because their commitment is to our precious children. Evangelization is a huge buzzword in Catholic circles these days. Yet, “You haven’t been truly evangelized until you evangelize.” So many of our teachers and aides have been evangelizing for years. They see it as a regular activity of the church that is directed to those who identify themselves as practicing Catholics. These volunteers put a lot of time, energy and even money into helping the children of St. Valentine Parish develop a stronger foundation for spirituality and Catholic living. This year, I am especially grateful for my teachers’ flexibility, enthusiasm, realism and sense of humor that was necessary to help them get through this transition year for me. God bless our CCD teachers and aides. CCD Registration is now open. It will be held on Mondays at St. Gabriel 6:30 p.m.7:45 p.m., Tuesdays at Nativity 5:00 p.m.6:15 p.m., Wednesdays at St. Germaine 6:15 p.m.7:20 p.m. and Wednesdays at St. Valentine 6:30 p.m. 7:45 p.m., as well as Sundays 11:45a.m.1:00 p.m. A registration form is available as an insert in the bulletin. Please register for the day and time that best suits your family. Parents should take a class to properly prepare for the Baptism of their first child, or they should take it if they have never taken a Baptism preparation class before. Classes should be scheduled at least one month prior to the date of the desired baptism. Sessions are offered on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 9:00 p.m. or Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. at St. Valentine Church and can be arranged by calling Carol Vater 4128354415. Sessions are also offered at St. Germaine Church and can be arranged at your convenience by calling Mary Beth Green 4128330661. The site of the Baptism Preparation class does not determine the church where your child’s baptism will be held. In the Baptism Preparation session, we discuss the nature, purpose and administration of the Sacraments. YOUTH MINISTRY Laura Dern, Director of Youth Ministry 4128354415 Welcoming all our youth from St. Gabriel, St. Valentine, Nativity and St. Germaine. On June 23, 2019, we will be continuing our discussion on the vision Pope Francis has for today’s youth as it applies to their Vocational calling. What is God asking of you? How do we discern the calling of Lay and Religious life? Join us for an awesome discussion on these important questions. Questions, please let me know: [email protected] 6 Sat./Sun.
