GRADES K-2 Holy Cross Parish Faith Formation Teacher: Sr. Carolyn Zahringer, Grade 1 The people of all nations saw the STAR in the sky. Most people didn’t see it as very special. There were three people who saw it as both beautiful and special. They decided to follow where it led. They followed it for days and days. It bought them to a small town called Bethlehem. The STAR rested above an ordinary place for animals. There they found Jesus. This was the very first Christmas. — Maggie Larsen The people of long ago saw love in a special STAR. Not everyone could just go and follow a STAR. There were three leaders who decided to check out what this STAR meant. They followed this super big star for days. It brought them to a tiny town. There they found their answer. — Luke Peruzzi The people all over the world could feel the STAR in their heart. They knew the STAR was special. They knew they needed to follow it because the STAR was unique. Not everyone could just leave their homes and families. Leaders went to check out what the STAR meant for the world. The leaders traveled a long distance and finally came to the place that the STAR was pointing to. They found the treasure that God had sent. God had sent His LOVE in the person of his son. It told the wise men to come to Bethlehem and discover Jesus. — Jane Ullmer The star of Bethlehem looked like shining gold over the roof of Jesus stable. It told the shepherds to go to Bethlehem and see the new born King. — Liam Kerscher The star of Bethlehem looked like the sun, a burning fire ball and a bright bright star. It told people to go to Jesus! – Harper Thomas The star of Bethlehem looked like a gold magical sparkle in the sky. It told the wise men and shepherds that a new king was born on Christmas day. — Joachin Helferberger The star of Bethlehem looked like the brightest star ever. It told people that it was a new star. — Sophia Differbaugh The star of Bethlehem looked like a blinding light in the air. It told the shepherds that there was going to be a newborn King! — Elera Patz The star of Bethlehem was twinkling like a miracle in Bethlehem. Then God said, “You my star. Please come here. I want you to go to that stable and shine your light.” “OK” so the shiny star found and guided the wisemen. But suddenly he lost his light. He concentrated hard until it was back on. He found Mary and Joseph and cried …. Happy tears. — Ariana McHugh “God! God!” cried star. “What” asked God. “Is it the time that your Son is going to be born.” “Yes,” said God. “Yes! I’ll get shiny my brightest. So how do I do it God? This is how you do it. You shine and shine hard and shine heard. I’ll try. rrrgh. I did it! Thank you God! Good Bye and the Happy little star was so Happy he cried. — Otto Huza The star of Bethlehem saw God coming. The star said, “Hello!” God said Hello back. God said you shall lead the wisemen to Bethlehem. Go leader the wisemen now.” The star said yes to God. The star felt scared to go but he knew God had a good plan. So that night the star shined bright as a night light. — Breleigh Ebben God sent me! God sent me! To light up the sky, to light up the sky! Like the sun to guide three wise men to Bethlehem. Where a baby was being born in a stable, in a stable and have to light up the Whole sky. Light up the sky! The baby, the baby, was our savior, our savior Jesus! — Eli Specht Once there was a little itsy bitsy star who was definntly not the best. I saw God coming. What’s he going to say? “I’m God, the one and only! I have a mission for you. Go and lead the 3 kings.” But I can’t shine bright enough that they will follow me. Believe in yourself. “OK Father I will.” — Maddox Wood “God picked me! God picked me! Thank you, God. So what do I have to do? Do I have to guide the wisemen?” “Yes,” God responded. “I’d love to lead them. I will go now. Weeeeeeeeeee Where are those wisemen? Oh there they are I will shine brighter than the sun. Follow me wisemen to the baby Jesus.” — Nora Jack God was planning a celebration. He picked a star, then an Angel appeared and said, “God’s son will be born soon, a new king.” “OK” said the star and took off. “Find Bethlehem!!!!” shouted the angel. I must find the wisemen! The star shined his brightest — the wise men saw and followed it to Jesus. — Sam Albers “God is coming, maybe He is going to pick me to lead the wisemen to Bethlehem. I will be the first star to see Baby Jesus! OK God I will get right to it. So I went to find the wisemen and lit up the sky like a beautiful, bright rainbow. Thank you God. — Getsemani Cardenas God asked a star to shine. So he did he shined brightly. So the shepherd went ot the sable. “I wonder if the shepherds are hear?” asked the star? “No, I don’t see them.” Yes, they are here. What should I do? Oh yes shine ok. They are following me. Yes, I am doing it. OK keep doing it. I am happy. — Benjamin Zyderveld The little star was playing with his star friends. Suddenly an angel appeared and said “There’s going to be a baby born tonight, you must guide Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem!” But the star was scared. He cried and the Angel exclaimed “It’s Good news. So the star listened and when the angel left the star found Mary and Joseph, guided them to where Jesus was born. — Lucy Wenninger GRADES 3-4 St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception School, Greenville Teacher: Katie Ernst, Grade 3 A cute young lamb and her friend mouse and a small buck saw a beautiful star. It was getting dark, but the star made it bright because of the way it glowed so brightly. Made of God’s love and grace, it softly hummed. They followed it. Finally, they saw the Savior and smiled. — Hope Cleereman I, a cat, sat on a plain in Bethlehem. A star was shining: amazing, bright, and bold. Soon shepherds came, and the dazzling star guided us to a stable. Racing closer, I heard trumpets playing with angels singing; a soft bell rang with laughter. The bright star, of angel light, was shining above a baby in a manger. — Ava Holdren The Star of Bethlehem looked like a blazing champion of God to me. The dazzling star didn’t make any sound, but flowing through in the air was the wonderful sound of a little shepherd playing his flute. The shining Star of Bethlehem made of God’s power all together especially made it bright in the sky to pull everyone to Jesus. — Miguel Enriquez Once there was a very shiny star made of love that boldly chased darkness down. It was a sign that the Savior was going to come and save us from sin. There was a baby in a manger crying. The star of Bethlehem was a bright beam of light shining the way to this baby, Jesus. — Adeline Gassner A very bright blue star was the brightest star in the sky. It was so bright that it looked like a pool of angels. The star was made of love and lots of care from God. I think it made a whoosh sound with love letting out the sizzle of hate. The star of Bethlehem guided shepherds to Jesus. — Courtney Cummings Three lonely shepherds gazed at the night sky. Suddenly a sparkling star shone upon them. They could not see a thing because the light shone so brightly. The gigantic star announced, “Don’t be afraid, a Savior is born!” A choir of angels appeared singing gloriously. The glowing star quietly led the shepherds to the stable where Jesus just was born. — Allison Engelbert A man named Gabriel and a young buck named Patrick saw a sizzling star. Patrick said, “We should follow that hot star.” Gabriel whispered, “It is a silver star.” Excitedly they went to admire it. Suddenly the shiny star pulled them. Now they could fly to Bethlehem. It took them to a stable in Bethlehem to see baby Jesus. — Collin McHugh The Star of Bethlehem looked like the biggest star on earth. There it was in the dark sky surrounded by little stars. The star of Bethlehem made a tiny sizzle as it moved along.
