Can the Minister please provide inf01mation regarding the identity of the 19 traditional owner groups with whom consultation has occurred? 2. When did these consultations occur and what issues were identified in the course of those consultations? 3. Can the Minister identify the dates and times that consultation occurred with the following parties: a. Refishwest b. Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) c. APPEA d. CMEWA e. AMEC f. The consultation draft of the Amendment Bill and an explanatory PowerPoint presentation on the proposed amendments were attached to the email. 8 May 2020 A response was received from the Y awuru Native Title Holders Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC which supported the proposed amendments. 15 May 2020 A response was received from the Kimberley Land Council (KLC). The KLC welcomed the proposed joint vesting amendments and also raised a number of other matters including sole vesting of marine reserves with an Aboriginal body corporate; the purpose of the marine park; native title rights of traditional owners; provision of arrangements for the transfer of joint vesting of the reserve to a replacement prescribed body corporate; and that existing notice provisions in the CALM Act should be retained. Tabled paper xx Consultation with other stakeholders on the Conservation and Land Management Amendment Bill 2020 is outlined below: a. Rec fish west Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. 8 October 2019 A response to the consultation letter of 9 August 2019 was received from Recfishwest indicating that it was supportive of the Government's commitment but was not in a place to comment without a draft Bill. 24 April 2020 DBCA sent an email offering a further briefing to Recfishwest. 30 April 2020 Recfishwest responded to the 24 April 2020 email noting its appreciation of the offer for a briefing but opted not to be briefed at that time. 3 September 2020 Recfishwest contacted DBCA to request a briefing 011 the Amendment Bill. 8 September 2020 A briefing was provided to Recfishwest following their contact on 3 September 2020. b. Western Australian Fishing Industry Council (WAFIC) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. 20 August 2020 WAFIC contacted DBCA to request a briefing on the Amendment Bill. 25 August 2020 A briefing was provided to W AFIC following their contact on 20 August 2020. 2 September 2020 W AFIC sent a letter to DBCA clarifying its issues and concerns. A response addressing the concerns raised is currently being finalised. c. Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. 28 August 2019 A response to the consultation letter of 9 August 2019 was received from APPEA which was supportive of the proposed amendments. d. Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CMEWA) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. e. Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. f. Conservation Council of Western Australia (CCWA) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. g. Pastoralists and Graziers Association of Western Australia (PGA) Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. 3 September 2019 A briefing was provided to PGA. h. Surfing WA Date Details 9 August 2019 DBCA sent a consultation letter that offered a briefing on the proposed amendments to the CALM Act. An information sheet on the proposed amendments was attached to the letter. 1.
