3) I accept the nomination of Valérie Gelézeau and Marie-Orange Rivé-Lasan.

4) Statement of intent :

I am candidate for the position of Ordinary Member of AKSE Council.

Linguist and professor at the Department of Korean studies at Paris Diderot University, I am a member of a multidisciplinary research centre, the Centre for Korean Studies within a larger North-East Asian Studies Institute (Laboratoire Chine, Corée, Japon - EHESS-CNRS, Paris Diderot University).

I wish to be an AKSE Council member as representative of Korean studies in France. In Paris alone, over 700 students are majoring in Korean studies (Paris Diderot University, INALCO, EHESS), with nearly 50 MA students, trained by 14 faculty members (out of 21 in France).

I readily agree to dedicate my work in the AKSE council to develop Korean studies in Europe and to contribute to the good relations between our association with Korean researchers and institutions and also with the rest of the world. I will keep up with the research carried out in Korean studies in Europe, take into account the diversity of situations in the organization of Korean studies in different countries in Europe, and ensure equitable representation of the various disciplines and domains in Korean studies within AKSE.

Jin-Ok KIM
