You are now entering Burnham Beeches proper – owned by the Corporation of London who bought it in 1880 to save the land from developers. It is a national nature reserve and much used as a film location for the likes of Robin Hood, Goldfinger and two Harry Potter films! Just after passing the moat you will reach Halse Drive. Turn left and bear left again at the bottom of the hill continuing until you reach the conveniently situated cafe. Walk down the drive to the entrance to the Beeches and cross the road, continue to the A355, and turn right then left just after the village centre. After that road turns sharp right, take the path to the left and follow it between the houses then across Farnham Common woods. At the end of the woods turn left by a house and skirt the edge of the woods until you reach a lane. Turn left then first right on another lane to a T junction. Turn left and almost immediately right onto a path and follow that through fields, down through a wood, then bear left across another field to a sign for Church Wood Bird Reserve on your right. Bear left onto a track which takes you back to the start of the walk.
